The Journey of a Distort Soul....

Deppavali at Menara TM...

We went to Menara TM on Deppavali to help Eliza packed her office documents and she will be moving to Annex next week. We brought most of Arief toys as well as the portable DVD to watch Ultraman. Eliza was busy arranging her many loose documents while I was busy shredding; Arief on the other hand was busy playing all over the office while watching Ultraman. We went for lunch at "Ikan Bakar Bellamy"; at first we thought it was closed because it was near empty. Most of the customers went to the 2nd shop. We went to the first one as we wanted to eat in comfort as Arief was sleeping. We ordered "ayam goreng kampung" and "ikan keli bakar". Arief only woke-up after we finish eating :-)

Open House in Enstek, Seri Kembangan and Lake Edge...

We went to Abg Ngah open house at Enstek and we arrived there with my sister. Arief was sleeping during the journey and woke-up upon arriving; and continue to play with Ilyas. Kak Zah cooked nasi tomato but we were aiming for the "char kueh teow". We talked about their recent trip to Bandung; they even paid a visit to Mie (uncle) step-mother there. The step-mother saw Mie when he was 1 year old in a malaysian magazine way back in 1970's; and she contacted Tok Chu to become Mie's step-mother; and until now Mie haven't met his step-mother in person. Remarkable :-)

From Enstek we drove to Seri Kembangan and we accidentaly left Arief Crocs at Abg Ngah house. We arrive there by 3pm and most of our TM & TM Net friends were already there enjoying their meals of laksa, lontong and sate. From there we went to Linda's new house at Lake Edge; nearby to Puchong IOI Mall. It was amazingly impressive; no wonder the price is half a million. We were full and I only ate rojak pasembor. Arief was busy playing with the small pebbles at the drive-way. We waited until Mazlan and Hani to arrive before we drove back home :-)

Open House at Datin Hanim's Bungalow...

This is the first time that we will be going to Datin Hanim's new house in Kota Damansara (she previously stayed in Seksyen 6 Shah Alam). Datin had already email us the map; luckilly we are familiar with Kota Damansara and it was easy to locate her house (huge corner bungalow). Arief was sleeping along the journey and continue sleeping while we take turns to eat. The buffet table is located beside the swimming pool; and we ate char kueh teow, laksa assam and lemang with daging rendang :-)

Arief at the barber...

We are so proud of Arief this evening. We went to the barber after attending Faris Open House. While I was sitting on the barber chair getting my hair cut, we asked Arief whether he wants to cut his hair as he kept on looking at me while I was having my haircut; and he nodded. Arief went to sit on the chair on his own, assisted by a wooden plank and the barber started to cut his hair. Arief was so composed during the process; the barber used machines, scissors as well as razors. Arief now has "beckham" style hair :-)

Open House at Sg Pusu...

After playing three sets of tennis (double) at Bangsar in the morning, I arrived home at around noon. My in-laws had already went to Banting for house-hunting with my sis-in-law. We drove to Sg Pusu after Zohor and Faris already provided us with the map to his weekend house (it was nearby to UIAM Gombak). The journey is about 45 minutes from Shah Alam and Arief was sleeping during the journey. The house is located on a small hill at Sg Pusu; nice "kampung" surroundings. We thought we were late but we were the second to arrive (my sister was there). Arief immediately went to play with Ilyas and Fahmi; playing with the Shell Ferrari cars. We enjoyed our lunch; white rice with gulai ikan, udang masak sambal, jelatah and sambal belacan. We also ate bihun sup and chocolate cake. I think we overdosed ourselves :-)

Open House at Azlisham / Khatijah house at Platinum...

We reached home just in time for Azlisham @ Boy / Khatijah open house. We couldn't park inside our house as there is car blocking; we parked infront of the tent instead. They served briani johor, satay & macaroni bakar. We were still full from Linda's open house so we just shared our meal together. We met with Suhaimi along with his wife and son at the open house; it seems that Khatijah is the classmate of Suhaimi wife's. We catch-up on things especially on Maybank performance. My in-laws arrived at around 9pm from Taiping; by then I've already parked the car inside our house. Eliza & Arief went in as Arief wanted to play with his cousins and I continue chatting with Suhaimi. BTW Otai Burger open up a stall the at open house; something new as I'm used to seeing "cendol" or "laksa" opening up their stall at the open house. I didn't manage to have the burger as I was full from two open houses :-)

Kosmokars & Open House at The Plaza Condo...

I went to service our car at Kosmokars; hoping to drink Chococinno but their Nestle dispensing machine no longer have Chococinno. I booked the earliest service slot; 8.15am and finished at around 9.30am. Ample time for me to reach the office. We went to Linda's Open House at her new condo @ "The Place" (nearby to TTDI) in the evening. Eliza took LRT until Taman Bahagia and we drove to "The Place". BTW Arief pooped while waiting for Eliza at the LRT; we wanted to clean him at the nearest petrol station but the toilet was horrible. We decided to clean Arief at Linda's condo. Driving there was ok apart from the minor traffic jam (evening rush). Finding "The Place" is easy as I'm familiar with TTDI. We parked at the basement and walked to the lift which was heavilly guarded by the securities. We didn't have to register as Linda had already told the securities of her open house today. It was on the 12th Floor; unit No 7 and the condo is huge @ 1,800 square feet with an excellent view. We cleaned Arief at Linda's condo before having our dinner @ Nasi Kerabu Terengganu and Laksa Johor. Arief was busy playing with Ema's son who is 4 years old and Arief was trying to imitate his every moves especially the half sommersault. We really do enjoy the Nasi Kerabu and we went home by 8pm :-)

Upin & Ipin Open House...

We went to Upin & Ipin Open House at Les' Copaque office in Seksyen 13 Shah Alam from Rennaisance KL. Federal Highway was suprisingly jam and we used the back route within Kelana Jaya to reach Shah Alam (an accident involving a garbage truck was the cause of the jam). We arrived at around 11am and Arief  was sleeping. The event was just about to start and I enroll Arief for their Membership Card; RM20 annually with a free cap. Tn Haji gave his speech on the latest development of Upin & Ipin as well as Geng: The Movie and I am impressed with their achievement. BTW Tn Haji just came back from Cannes this morning and haven't slept yet from the long journey. Arief woke up just in time for the Upin & Ipin appearance on stage. The voice-over talent also strutt their stuff and it was quite hillarious listening to their voices. We went to their merchandize shop but didn't find anything that fancy us. Buffet lunch was served at around noon and we ate bihun goreng with nasi himpit and we sat at Geng's Corner. I managed to catch-up with Nizam and Tn Haji on their latest achievement. We did tried to take pictures with the characters but Arief is afraid at their big head :-)

Rennaisance KL...

We arrived at Rennaisance KL by 3pm; and I dropped Eliza & Arief at the West Wing Lobby before parking our car at the basement. I went to the check-in counter to register for our room (Junior Suite); 1209 with breakfast. The suite is just nice with an elegant living room, spacious bedroom with the most comfortable pillows and matress, excellent view of Concorde Hotel and Menara KL and also not forgetting toilets with bathtub, separate showers and bathrobes. They provide us with cookies and apples. We really refreshed ourselves with the luxury on the Junior Suite and  Arief was busy playing all over the room and exploring the many cabinets as well as playing with the apples. We went out after Maghrib for our dinner and I decided to visit "Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa" at Kampung Baru (nearby). I bought "nasi lemak pegedil and paru with extra sambal". BTW Arief was sleeping inside the car as he didn't slept the whole evening. We dropped by KLCC; hoping to window shopped but Arief woke-up and we had to cut short our trip to allow Arief to get some sleep at the hotel. We did however bought Chicken Pie and drinks for dinner. Eliza & Arief slept after dinner and I watch Arsenal vs Everton at the living room; Arsenal won 3-1. We woke-up early as usual to the KL morning sun and went down for breakfast at around 7.45am. There were a lot of Moto GP fans staying at the hotel; obvious from the t-shirts that they wore. Breakfast was simple and delicious. We walked by the swimming pool after breakfast and watch a group of players playing tennis. We check-out at around 10am and I had to pay RM10 for parkings. It was truly an enjoyable stay in Rennaisance KL thanks to Mix FM Pandora's Box :-)

Burger King, Wedding & Open House in Bangi...

We will be joining "rombongan pernikahan" Azral to Bangi at around 10am; we decided to have our breakfast at the newly opened Burger King at Seksyen 13 Shah Alam. We were the second customer there and we found out that today is the official opening of the outlet and they were waiting for the VVIP to officiate the launch. We arrived at Pak Pian house in TTDI just in time; and we started our convoy from TTDI to Bangi. We stop-by at the Petronas Station in Bangi as Azral wanted to visit the bathroom; I guess he wanted to calm down before the ceremony. We arrived at the bride's house by 11am and everyone was waiting for us. We re-group at their neighbour house before proceeding to the "pernikahan". We sat outside with my cousins while listening to the ceremony; Arief was busy playing toy car with his cousin while eating "kerepek" and drinking "sirap selasih" with "teh tarik". BTW Azral took three "lafaz" and they served "kambing golek"; one of our favourite dish and I was the fifth person to queqe for the "kambing golek". Nasi Briani was also delicious with chicken and beef; we take turns eating and we thorougly enjoy the meal. Arief was enjoying playing with his toy car at the neighbour's porch. After the wedding we went to Roslan house at Taman Bangi Ria (old Bangi). I called Rahimi requesting for the direction and Alhamdulilah we found the house; got lost for awhile as the signboard to Taman Bangi Ria was hidden beside some trees. We were still full from the wedding but I still managed to eat lontong with satay while Eliza ate desserts. BTW Arief was playing at the miniature fountain with the other childrens; washing his hand in the process :-)

Oldtown Kopitiam at Shah Alam Mall...

The new outlet is now open in Shah Alam Mall; nearby to our house. I was on MC today (tonsillitis) and Eliza is fasting; so we decided to break fast at Kopitiam. They have two entrances; facing Concorde Hotel and another one within Shah Alam Mall. The entrance facing Concorde Hotel is quite steep and I strongly suggest to use the internal entrance. We ordered and Arief tried to tick it on their order paper; roti bakar, Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun, white coffee, iced chocolate and hazelnut white coffee. Arief really likes to eat mee with soup :-)

 

Irfan Aqiqah & Ilyas Birthday + Open House...

We went to Kompleks PKNS (Bee's) to pick-up Ilyas Ultraman birthday cake before going to my sister house in Subang Permai. It took us awhile to locate the shop (at the end of the other site). We arrived at my sister house by 11.30am and the "marhaban" group is still there waiting for the main course @ rice with daging kambing kawah and kurma kambing to be served. Arief was sleeping along the way but woke-up when we arrived; Ilyas & Irfan was sleeping. We ate early and I overdosed on the "daging kambing kawah"; Eliza too but not too much as Arief wanted to play inside with Eliza. I was the "penyambut tetamu" and I wore "baju batik" that I bought in Bandung and I do look like a "wakil rakyat". By 1pm the crowd is getting heavier with relatives and friends. Weather was nice; not too hot and windy. I managed to catch-up with a lot of my cousins; and Azral is getting married next week in Bangi and we will be joining the "rombongan". In between that I played mini football with Arief & Ilyas; it was fun and tiring as well. Arief can really kick the ball and his balance is quite impressive for a 2 year old. My sister nearly forgot to do the cake cutting ceremony for Ilyas. It was cute as Ilyas try to blew the candles on his own and his brother Irfan curiously looking at his brother. My mom prepared "take-away" for us and I requested for the "daging kambing kawah" :-)

Qaseh Seksyen 13...

We went out early on Sunday morning to fill-up NGV as my sister is having her "open house" at noon. After done filling NGV, we went to Qaseh at Seksyen 13 for our breakfast (located nearby to Les' Copaque). Eliza and Arief at Bihun Singapore while I ate mee & kuehteow goreng. Both of us ordered teh tarik. The restaurant atmosphere is awesome and the food is delicious. Arief likes to play with the mini fountain beside the wash basin :-)

Tennis & Raya Open House...

My first tennis session after Ramadhan and my timing was way out; and I lost two sets (6-2 and 6-4). This is all due to the ketupat & lemang and also we started playing at 10am until noon. I arrived home by 1pm after buying "lauk pauk" at Restoran Hakim at Seksyen 3. Arief was watching "Cars" on DVD and he is feeling a bit sleepy and he went to sleep after I finish bathing. We ate lunch; ikan keli with masak lemak kuning nangka and sambal belacan. It was raining heavilly in the evening and we just slept through. We went to our neighbours open house at around 6.50pm and I parked in-front of his house. There were varieties on the buffet table and I think I mistakenly mix-up the servings combination and also I didn't notice the rice. Arief was busy playing with the toy gun that he found in the house :-)

Uncle Lim's Kopitiam Subang Parade...

Eliza is fasting today and we went to Uncle Lim's Kopitiam Subang Parade for break fast. We ordered wholemeal roti bakar, normal roti bakar, mushroom mee, porridge, soya cincau, hot tea and iced milo. Arief ate both the porridge and mushroom mee; he immediately say "soup" when he saw my porridge. After break fast we went to BATA Shoe Warehouse nearby, we wanted to survey our office shoes but Arief pooped. We drove straight home :-)

Uncle Lim, Cathay, Carl's Jr & Oldtown Kopitiam...

We went on our "movie date" today after sending Arief to his babysitter's house in Kelana Jaya. We stopped by Airpak Express to pick-up the redemption tupperware from Alliance Bank. it took us awhile to locate Airpak as we are not familiar with PJ. From there we drove straight to IKANO and have our breakfast at Uncle Lim; two set of Roti Bakar (normal and wholemeal) as well as hot tea and iced cham. After breakfast, we walked to Cathay Cineplexes to buy "Eagle Eye" tickets. We wanted to try the Platinum Movie Suites; promotions of Buy 1 Get 1 but it was only during Ramadhan. We opted for the Couple Seat instead @ RM14 and purchase large popcorn combo. The movie was very intense and we enjoy watching it till the end; highly recommended to all. The movie finished at around 1.30pm and we window shopped; bought blouse for Eliza at DFO and Cars T-Shirt for Arief at Brands Outlet. I did found a new CROCS for office use; budget for 2009 :-)

We drove to One-Utama to have Carl's Jr for lunch. It is located at the Old Wing. We ordered Famous Star with Cheese and BBQ Chicken Burger Combo upgraded to Large @ RM31. Famous Star is big and we really enjoy their Salsa Bar and the unlimited supply of pickles, jalapeno peppers and salsa dips. The fries is cooked with some skins. We thoroughly enjoy our meal, a bit expensive for a fast food outlet but tasted better than McD and Burger King. We drove out from One Utama to Kelana Jaya. It was already 4.30pm and we went to Oldtown Kopitiam for some needed caffeine; hot hazelnut coffee and white coffee. Both are excellent. We pick-up Arief by 5.30pm and we went straight home. We still have leftovers from yesterday for our dinner tonite :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 7...

We wanted to escape the traffic crawl @ Balik Kampung and we started our journey from Taiping at 9am. I managed to eat nasi goreng for breakfast at Sri Kota and request my mom to prepare nescafe O for the journey; as usual my mom also prepare "lauk-pauk" for our lunch today (complete with pekasam for Eliza). The journey was smooth all the way; apart from few cars that decided to drive fast, tailgatting and jumping queqes. Arief and Eliza slept along the way as expected. I exited at Subang Toll to re-load my TouchNGo and we arrived home by noon. At first we wanted to go to Giant and Tesco to buy our groceries but after unpacking all the "lauk-pauk" from my mom; we ate first because it looks so tempting. My mom prepared ayam masak merah, kari ikan, sayur kobis, ikan goreng, sambal belacan, udang goreng bawang and not forgetting pekasam. Arief enjoy eating rice with prawns :-)

After lunch we went to Giant at Shah Alam Mall; the place is a bit empty. We stopped by at the LEVIS Store and bought Dockers blazer for me; it was on 50% sale as they plan to close the outlet due to disagreement with the frachisor. We bought our normal groceries; plus a toy gun for Arief. BTW everytime we went into Giant, Arief will request for Vitagen and he will drink it while we shop. We went to Tesco Shah Alam to buy diapers for Arief; Drypers here is much more cheaper. At Tesco we bought Arief Electronic Guitar for RM15. On our way out, we bought fruits (pineapple, mangga muda and kedongdong). We arrived home at around 4pm, a bit tired but we still need to pack our luggage. We'll do it later tonite :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 6...

No "roti canai" Bismillah Restoran for today; I'm too tired to wake-up early and my in-laws bought "nasi lemak". We went back to Pokok Assam to get ready for a wedding reception and open house at Acu Din house in Ipoh; btw my sister had already went back to Shah Alam. The wedding reception is held at Dewan MPT; the daugther of my mom's cousin. All of my relatives in Taiping went to the wedding and we were seated in three tables. Arief as usual walk all around the hall. We were there by noon but we ate at 1pm; it seems that we have to wait for the bride & groom to arrived. Their arrival was accompanied by "kompang"; the same group that plays kompang non-stop at our wedding. To our suprise, there is a performance by "silat gayung" after the "kompang". The "silat gayung" took longer than expected with several individual sessions; luckilly they served our rice during the "silat gayung" performance and without hesitation we just started eating. No disrespect to the bride & groom but we are hungry from waiting since noon. Arief was hungry as well and he ate nasi minyak with chicken; the nasi was delicious :-)

The journey to Ipoh was quite an adventure; jam started to build-up from Kuala Kangsar. I decided to use the old route to Ipoh; exiting at Kuala Kangsar Toll. Eventhough the journey was much more smoother but numerous traffic lights in Sg Siput and Chemor slowed us down. Arief slept all the way to Ipoh. We finally arrived in Ipoh by 4pm; my other relatives arrived earlier as they continue to use the NSE because the traffic jam was only until the Sg Perak R&R. BTW we forgot the location of Acu Din house; confused by the wedding reception nearby. We were so hungry that we ate almost everything on the table; satay, nasi dagang with paprik, mee kari and laksa. We went back at around 5.30pm and stopped at Changkat Jering Pasar Malam to buy Murtabak, Pekasam and pecal for dinner :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 5...

I went again to Bismillah Restoran; this time alone as Aiman was still sleeping (slept late as he is working on his assigment). I ordered 10 roti canai and ate one roti canai with teh tarik. I wanted to buy "nasi lemak" but I can't seem to find any (maybe it was too early). We wanted to visit our friends house in the morning but nobody was free; we ended up going into town to eat "cendol". This time the "cendol" taste a bit weird; and I didn't finish my portion. After the dissapoinment at "cendol", we visited Acik Nan's house (just behind my house) and Acik Zakiah prepared home-made "yong tau foo"; we really liked the spicy "kuah" and Arief ate quite a lot with the spicy "kuah". My cousin; Irwan came in the evening with his family. Arief & Ilyas was busy playing "ultraman" when they arrived (both were sleeping at noon); they don not know the meaning of the word "tired". It was quite a handful to play with both of them but it was fun. We went to my aunties house in the late evening; Mak Cho and Mak Lang where we ate laksa, bihun goreng and kuehteow goreng. We arrived in Sri Kota after maghrib; my in-laws brought back "sup gearbox" from Baling. It was so tempting that I took a bite and a sip; it was delicious but the amount of "lemak" is alarming; it took me awhile to clean my hand from the "lemak" residue :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 4...

I woke up early in order to go to Bismillah Restoran for "roti canai"; Aiman went with me eventhough he was still sleepy. We were the second customer there and our 10 "roti canai" is ready; we ordered another 10 for Pak Teh and ate 4 roti canai with teh tarik. We were there until 7.15am; waiting for my friend Halim to arrive as we reserved his table. I spend the whole morning playing Wii with Arief, my cousins and nephews. We didn't have any invitations for open house today so we opted to stay-in and have lunch at home; we really like the "sambal tumis udang". We make plans to visit our friends house after lunch but Arief was sleeping and it already started raining. My in-laws came in the evening; and Abg D bought mee goreng. We went back to Sri Kota by Maghrib; to have "laksa" at Kak Lijah house next door. After Kak Lijah house, we went to Mahadir house in Matang; eating "laksa" again. It has been awhile since I last came here but it did bring back a lot of childhood memories :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 3...

My in-laws plan to celebrate Eliza & Zakuan birthday tonite at Matang; with BBQ as the main course. Our task is to buy the birthday cake. I surfed the web to find out the phone number for Secret Recipe in Tesco Taiping; called the outlet and booked 1kg of Chocolate Mud Cake. Tesco was a bit packed but parking was easy. I also ordered two slices for Chocolate Banana and a slice of Oreo Cheese. We were waiting for my sister to arrive from Shah Alam; and I play tennis with Arief & Fadzli as well as Nintendo Wii. Arief was ecstatic to meet up with Ilyas & Irfan; playing as "ultraman" and wrestling with me on the floor. We went to Seri Kota first to fetch my in-laws to Matang and we found out that instead of BBQ, we will be serving KFC (everyone was tired from eating food the whole day). The event was a joyous one indeed; almost all of Eliza relatives came. Arief was busy playing with his cousin; and he also ate ketupat with KFC. We went back at around 10.30pm as Arief is already sleeping. Eliza had a blast birthday celebration; twice in a day :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 2...

From the gatherings in Sri Kota we went to my family gatherings at Pokok Assam. We arrived at around noon and it was already packed with relatives; cars were parked all around the compound of my house. Immediately when we arrived, my mom had prepared a birthday cake for Eliza to celebrate her birthday. It was a suprise and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Eliza. The first thing that we ate was "laksa", even Arief enjoy eating "laksa" with Eliza. Arief enjoy the crowds as there is a lot of small kids that he can play with. After all of us finish eating, Acik Nan & Acik Zakiah make an annoucement on Fadzli wedding this coming November 2008; which focus on the responsibilities of each relatives during the wedding. As we are expecting about 2,000 people to attend; including various VVIP & VIP (Acik Nan was the previous Village Head and now hold the post of Pengerusi JKKP). I got the task with Eliza to welcome the bride's family on 29th November; and Haza or Aiman will be the "pengapit" :-)

Aidil Fitri 2008 Part 1...

My Raya morning began as usual; woke up early for Subuh and I went with my mom and Pak Teh to the cemetery. It was raining slightly and we were one of the earliest to arrived. My "arwah" father's grave is nearby to the entrance; as well as both of my uncle (arwah Pak Lang & Pak Cho). My oldest brother; Bazelan (died at birth) is buried beside my auntie (my mom eldest sister) and my grandfather (arwah Pak Wan). Alhamdulillah all the grave is in good condition. After reciting "surah yassin with doa"; we went to the wet market to buy "laksa basah" but it was out of stock. My mom always prepare "laksa" as the main specialty of our house. I ate nasi himpit with "kuah kacang" and "rendang tok & ayam" for breakfast before getting ready to go to the mosque for Sembahyang Suhat Hari Raya at Masjid Sri Kota. Arief looks smart in his "baju melayu" and "songkok" that I bought yesterday evening. After finish praying, we gather at my in-laws house. I managed to eat ketupat with "ayam masak merah" and "daging minang" while waiting for Elina families to arrive. BTW we did took a lot of pictures while waiting and again Arief looks so handsome with his songkok. Once they arrived, the "mohon maaf" session begins with my in-laws and be followed by the oldest siblings first. This will involves the exchanges of "duit raya". We did received a lot as today is also coincide with Eliza's birthday :-)
