Shah Alam Mall Kopitiam...

We went for dinner at Shah Alam Mall Kopitiam to celebrate the last day of 2008. And as usual Arief will go and play at his favourite "Daytona"; we were told by the staff that they are closing down and will be moving to Cheras Leisure Mall. We ordered our favourite "Claypot Rice" with chinese tea in a pot. BTW spill his soup all over the table while he was banging the chopsticks on the table. Interesting fact; Baskin Robbins is offerings 31% discounts on all their ice-cream today and the queue at the outlet in Shah Alam Mall is long :-)

 

LCCT, ENSTEK & Putrajaya...

We went to LCCT to send my mom's maid back to Jakarta; she has been with us for 2 years ++ (since Arief was 6 days old). She is hardworking though and can be trusted to do the household chores; but she lost our trust when she uses the house phone and my mom mobile phone without permission (calling her then boyfriend). The bills went up tremendously; few hundreds for both house phone and mobile. She even tried to hide the bills; big mistake as we can access the bills online. My mom had to stopped her wages for two months to cover the telephone cost. She only brought home about RM1000; which is quite small as compared with the other foreign maids. Well she kept on buying clothes and top-up cards; and also new mobile phone (which was ringing at every 10 minutes interval at LCCT). We arrived at LCCT by 10.30am and it was already packed (normal). Her flight is scheduled to depart at 1.30pm. Our timing is just perfect as after we had finish at the AirAsia counter, the queue at the baggage checking is long. BTW her luggage is in excess of 6kg @ RM90. We asked her to enter the international departure early as to avoid crowds. Once we saw that she had passed the immigration counter, we went to have lunch at Abg Ngah house :-)

We arrived there by noon (ENSTEK) and we chatted (Fiza wedding in February, trip to Bandung, passenger mishap at AirAsia) while waiting for my sister to arrive (driving from Bukit Raja Klang). Kak Ngah prepared rice with ikan goreng rangup, sambal tumis udang, ayam masak merah and sayur campur. We thoroughly enjoy our lunch while Arief and Ilyas was busy playing "Ultraman"; Irfan on the other hand just kept on smiling looking at his brother and cousin playing their hearts out. By 3pm we drove to Precint 18 Putrajaya, to visit the newlyweds apartment. Zura's sister families was there when we arrived. Fadzli prepared cucur udang, pisang goreng and roti john (bought at Precint 9). They have a lot of new furnitures now as compared to my earlier visit when Fadzli was still a bachelor. Ample warning was given to us on their dining table; it will tilt if it is unbalance (Cavenzi). Arief was sleeping but woke up at around 4pm and continue playing with Ilyas, as Ultraman and they attacked Fadzli :-)

Pertunangan Ijam & Zurita...

We came back yesterday as I need to send my mom's maid back to Jakarta (for good); we didn't went to Ijam "Pertunangan" at Matang. The "pertunangan" went well as planned at the wedding is scheduled on 7th & 8th March 2009. Selamat Bertunang Ijam & Zurita and I particularly like this photo of them :-)

Long weekend in Taiping Part 03...

We took Arief for his hair-cut today; but not before we had our dose of "cendol taiping". It was simply delicious. We went to "Kedai Gunting Rambut Ruby" @ Welcome (their "WELCOME" board is huge). I still remember the times that I went here with my arwah father when I was small; they always welcome us with a smile and they still remember me and my arwah father. Now I'm there with my son. It does bring back a lot of good memories. BTW Arief sat on his own while getting his haircut done. We went to Nora's (Eliza cousin) wedding at Selinsin at around 1pm. Food was served buffet style and we didn't ate that much because we were still full from breakfast. Rain started falling at around 1.30pm; we were worried as the groom is scheduled to arrived by 2pm. Lucky for us the rain stopped briefly; just nice for the groom families to arrived for the "upacara bersanding". It started to rain again but it did not disturb the proceedings. BTW we enjoy two cones of 0.50 cents ice-cream with Arief. We went home for some needed RnR while Arief continue playing with my sister. We had our dinner at Sri Kota; leftovers from the wedding.  Arief was sleeping as he didn't sleep at all today. We discussed on Ijam "pertunangan" as well as the proposed wedding on March 2009. Alhamdulilah everything is agreed with the families and now waiting for the acceptance from Zurita's families on Monday. BTW Eliza did the decorations for the "hantaran" :-)

Long weekend in Taiping Part 02...

I was supposed to play tennis at Taiping Resort with Abg Amin but it was rescheduled to 4pm at Taman Tasik Taiping instead. With time to spare, I went to do my errands; tyre alignment (RM15) and pay our apartment loan at Bank Muamalat. It was completed by 10am; I decided to visit the dentist for my usual dental check-up and cleaning. While I was waiting at the dentist, Eliza called saying that we will be going to the Jewellery Shop to buy "cincin pertunangan" for Ijam & Zurita. We went to the shop with my mother-in-law; we had to wait for Ijam to arrived with Zurita as well as Elina & Anis. Arief was busy playing with the tennis balls with me at the Jewellery Shop; until he throw the tennis balls into the small drain. I walked with Arief to 7-11 to buy drinks (it was quite hot) and then Eliza text me that Ijam & Zurita has arrived. That was the first time that we saw Zurita; no wonder Ijam is feeling "out of this world" and wanted to "kahwin" as soon as possible. We lunch at Pokok Assam with my mom before I went for Friday prayers. After prayers, I played with Arief until he was really tired and he ended up sleeping while drinking his milk beside me on the sofa. I carry him into our room and I immediately refreshed for my tennis session. It was extremely hot and I managed to play two sets of doubles; the first set with Abg Amin and the second with my old school teacher; Cikgu Dollah. It was fun meeting all of them (I used to play with them during my secondary days and it was 10 years ago). We went out with Halim and his family for dinner at Bomba; my in-laws, Elina families and Ijam join as well. We managed to block three tables and we ordered three plates of "yong tau foo". It was indeed a marvellous outing :-)

Long weekend in Taiping Part 01...

We went back to Taiping for a long deserved holiday; Elina's and Yeop car-pool with us (they came on Wednesday night from Banting). We breakfast at Seksyen 6 as usual as Arief really likes the "nasi lemak". The journey was smooth apart from raining at certain stretch of the highway. We arrived at Sri Kota by 1pm and we proceed to lunch. We were actually waiting for Ijam to arrive as we wanted to know about his upcoming "pertunangan" with Zurita this coming Monday (he met during the previous weekend; arrange by both families). We did managed to chat with Ijam for awhile before we went to Pokok Assam. I had planned to play tennis but it was raining; we ended up going to Tesco Taiping where we visited the famous "Yu Yi" for our DVDs. We also did some light window shopping at Taiping Sentral before heading to Bomba for dinner; but we couldn't find parking and Arief was already sleeping. We ended up having our dinner at Sri Kota :-)

Little Caliphs...

Today is Arief first day in his new kindergarten @ taska after two years and a half at his babysitter's in Kelana Jaya. We finally decided to send him to the nearest taska @ Little Caliphs (we reviewed 3 other kindergartens; 2 in Seksyen 7 and 1 in Seksyen 13). Arief was crying this morning when we sent him but he was OK once we leave him to the kindergarten teacher. BTW our neighbour also sent his son to this kindergarten and he cried too this morning :-)

Eliza called the teacher in the afternoon and she said that Arief stop crying a few minutes after we left but he was a little bit clingy to her. They were worried that Arief didn't eat during breakfast; this is not his normal routine during his stay at the babysitter. But Arief did ate lunch and tea-time. By the time we arrived at the kindergarten, it was already 6.55pm and Arief was the only one left. He looks happy and even "salam" and waved goodbye to his teacher. We are so proud of our son; Arief for his achievement today :-)

Carl's Jr, Comic Fiesta & Sunway Piramid...

We arrived at Sunway Piramid by 10am and manage to find our parking with ease. We immediately went to search for Carl's Jr for breakfast; got lost along the way as it was hidden inside Marakesh Zone. We were the second customer there and we ordered Famous Star and Super Star (double burger). The burgers here is enormous and we made a mess to finish eating it. Arief just enjoy eating the fries while drinking bottomless ice lemon tea. We really like Carl's Jr for their unlimited supply of pickles :-)

I wanted to visit the much publicize Comic Fiesta at Sunway Convention Centre but my staff is not around yet. So we went to the kiddies zone instead where Arief plays at the mini playground and rides on the mini train with Eliza. My colleagues called that they are waiting for me at McD and we went up together to the Comic Fiesta. I was registered as the VIP and we proceed to get our passes for free (normal is charged RM15). Today is the last day as they were having a CosPlay competition; so we saw a lot of comic characters come to life. It was quite packed and we find it hard to moved around with strollers; Arief was feeling uneasy as well with the crowds and there is a lot of people taking photographs. We just spend about half an hour there and we went out for some shopping at Sunway Piramid. Arief was asleep when we did our shopping; we bought three shirts for Eliza and one Seed shirt for me :-)

TM Net CosPlay Dinner at Cyberlodge...

I booked my darth vader costume at Costume N Parties; the rental is RM90. I wore the costume while driving from Shah Alam to Cyberjaya and I did noticed a few people smiling at me when they overtook me or at the traffic light. It was raining approaching Cuberjaya; lucky for me that it was just drizlling when I arrive at Cyberlodge. Everyone was dressed in their finest costume; some even made themselves (transformers). BTW there is another Darth Vader and Darth Maul. I was keeping myself busy by disturbing my friends using my light saber. It was fun actually as most of them didn't recognize me through the mask. The dinner starts on time and the food was delicious. We were seated at the VIP table as it was empty. The emcee @ Ali Mamak was hillarious with his two-liners and impromtu jokes. I really like the group presentation by DC; Kimy dressed up as an indian girl complete with saree. I didn't win the major lucky draw (42" LCD TV) but I did won a small "water dispenser". The dinner ended at Midnight and I arrived home by 2am :-)

Family Day at IKANO & IKEA...

We went to IKANO & IKEA with my in-laws and Elina families. We went out later than usual and arrived at IKANO by 11.30am; luckily we were ushered to a nice parking spot by the security guard. I went to booked a wheelchair for my mother-in-law; and booked the car stroller for Arief and Anis too. We immediately went to IKEA; without knowing that we can't bring the car stroller inside IKEA. So we returned back the car stroller and I had to take Arief stroller inside the car. IKEA was packed with shoppers; X'mas shopping I guess. We decided to just hang-out at the cafe while my in-laws and Elina shopped; Arief was busy playing at the toys section. We had our lunch at the Cafe by 2pm, again it was full and we managed to find a table at the entrance. Elina ordered various foods for us to enjoy and we spend close to an hour there. BTW Arief slept at IKANO after playing non-stop with Haziq & Anis :-)

BBQ...

We did a small BBQ at our house; daging korban and chickens. I started the preparation by 4pm and we basically finish BBQ by 7pm. It was raining while I was setting up the charcoal fire; it took me awhile to get it done. Arief was busy playing with his sword while I was busy cooking. My in-laws and Elina's families came at around 5pm. Aiman came a bit later; I pick him up at Seksyen 7. Neng & families arrived after Isyak; by the I had already eaten a lot :-)

Pooped on the bedroom floor...

This is the first for Arief; pooped on the bedroom floor. Luckily he was not standing on the bed or carpet (his cousin Ilyas pooped on the carpet and my sisted had to throw it away). At first he was acting as if he was pooping while watching the TV and I asked him whether he pooped and he nodded. As usual, we asked Arief to tell us once he has finished and we bring him inside the bathroom to wash. To our surprise, he did not pooped. As Arief was in the bathroom, he took his bath. I was on the bed watching TV and Eliza was washing away the soap bubbles from Arief bath. Arief was choosing his t-shirt at his wardrobe. Then all of the sudden Eliza shouted; "Alamak... Arief pooped on the floor". And he pooped BIG :-)

Crocs Sale at Kepong...

I went to the "third" Crocs Sale after missing the first two; didn't know about the one at Menara TM and arrived late for the second one at Amcorp Mall. This time I went there on-time and crowd was already full. I managed to went it before they started to do "crowd control". I bought 4 pairs; two for Arief, one each for Eliza and myself :-)

Korban di Platinum Villa...

I participated in the "korban" at our Platinum Villa; we missed the first one as we went back to Taiping for Raya Haji. It was 2 cows for this year and the "korban" was done at the nearby playground. The "korban" started at 7.30am and finish by 10.30am. I was really unsure on my roles during the "korban" but I ended up preparing the sup tulang; apart from the cleaning and tidying roles. The highlight is the dinner with beef rendang, sup tulang, lontong and BBQ :-)

 

Hari Raya Haji 2008...

I went for my Raya Haji prayers at Masjid Seksyen 7 (nearby to our house). I went there by 7.45am, thinking that it would start at 8am (it started at 8.30am). I managed to park beside the masjid and sat in the main hall. The prayers finish at around 9.30am; to be followed by "korban" at 10am.  BTW it was raining since this morning. We went to my sister house by noon; Arief was sleeping during the short journey and woke-up upon arrival. Ilyas went out to play with his uncle and Irfan was sleeping. We immediately went to have "laksa" and "nasi impit" while Arief plays on his own; he did try to play with Irfan is his baby-swing though and he pooped as well. Once Ilyas is back then the fun starts with both of them; most of the times they would play well together but they would also scream at each other for the toys (occasionally). We went back home by 3pm as Eliza's parents is on their way from Taiping. We went to my friend's house; Aepit at around 6pm. They stayed at Seksyen 11 but we went to his mother's house at Seksyen 10 (this was my "lepak" house during my Uni days). Arief was feeling a bit sleepy but he stills  manage to eat "dodol" :-)

Laksa & IKEA...

I woke up early as I wanted to go to Pasar Seksyen 16 to buy "kuah laksa" for Hari Raya Haji; btw we are celebrating Hari Raya Haji at my sister house in Subang Permai this year. I bought the "kuah laksa" as promised and went to Pasar Seksyen 6 to buy "daun pudina" and "laksa". We dropped my sister house to pass the "kuah laksa" and drove to IKANO. We arrived at around 11.30am and parking was nearly full. We went straight to IKEA Cafe for lunch; the queue is quite long and I ordered meatballs, chicken wings and vegetable rice with ayam masak pandan. Eliza & Arief seated nearby to the children playing area; we take turns to watch Arief play while we ate our lunch. As we were about to leave, I spotted a small boy at the playing area and he resembles my friend's son. I immediately call them up and true enough they were at the Cafe having their lunch. We went to say "Hello" and they invited us to their house tomorrow for "Raja Haji" :-)
