Nasi Ambang Banting & Birthday Party at Sunway Alam Suria...

I was suffering from a bad cold last night and slept at around 3am. I was keeping myself busy by surfing the internet (booking the tennis courts) and watching "Shooter" on HBO. It was due to my mistake of choosing a "smoking floor". We had our morning buffet breakfast at the hotel; and Arief was enjoying taking pictures with the new camera (need to bring the old camera for Arief). The nasi lemak is quite delicious. We checked out at around 10.30am and we drove to Banting for lunch. My mother-in-law bought 30 Nasi Ambang; btw this Nasi Ambang is quite huge. The ingredients are:

1. Nasi Putih
2. Ayam Masak Kicap
3. Sambal goreng @ Sayur campur
4. Serunding Kelapa
5. Mee Hoon or Mee Goreng
6. Ikan kering bulu ayam
7. Ulam Timun
8. Keropok & Tempe

We shared "Nasi Ambang" and we add "cili padi"; it is a bit dry and we also add "kuah daging with nangka". Arief was busy playing PS2 with his cousins upstairs while we spend time watching Ijam's wedding video downstairs. We drove back to Shah Alam at around 4pm but we stopped at a tyre shop at Glenmarie to check on the front tyres; luckilly it was ok. We arrived at Mazlan & Hani new house at around 5.30pm; and it was big with beautiful scenery. We ate a bit; nasi lemak and roti jala. Arief was crying as he just woke up but when he saw that they have a mini slide, he immediately went to play there :-)

Aquaria, KLCC, Impiana Hotel & Earth Hour...

I finish playing tennis early as we will be going to Aquaria KLCC. We reached Impiana KLCC at around 2pm and it took us about 10 minutes to check-in; we were offered the smoking floor as the room is ready. I wanted non-smoking floor but it will only be ready in 2 hours and as we are rushing to catch the "Aquaria Shark Feeding" at 3pm, we accept the rooms given and Arief drank soya bean from the mini bar (RM8). The queue at Aquaria was fast and we bought two adult tickets; RM28 each and Arief is FOC. We immediately rushed to the "Shark Feeding" but we encountered traffic jams at the stairs (school children) and the guard ask us to use the elevator. We just managed to watch the diver feed the sharks. Arief was afraid at first but after a few minutes he was ok and started to enjoy watching all the fishes in the tunnel. We bought souveniers; t-shirt for Arief and fridge magnet. We had our late lunch at the nearby food court; we wanted to have at KLCC but Arief insisted that we ate here. I ordered fish nooddle soup for Eliza & Arief and Nasi Ayam Black Pepper for me. Arief ate the fish noodle soup with Eliza before began exploring the food court; he particularly likes the mini fountain nearby. We walked to KLCC via the tunnel and Arief can't stop playing with Barney coin operated car beside Toys'R'us. BTW Arief cried for almost half an hour because he wanted to play with the Petronas BMW F1 simulator (purchase merchandise worth RM150; entitled one free ride). It took us awhile to calm him down. Finally he stop crying and fell asleep while drinking his milk. We did window shop around KLCC briefly (bought Ben 10 t-shirt and water bottle for Arief and he wore the new shirt immediately) as we wanted to be back at the Hotel by 8.30pm to watch KLCC "turn off their lights". We bought KFC for dinner; I ordered the Regular X-Meal with Popcorn chicken and KFC forgot to put in the fries (it was quite busy at that time and I forgot to check as we were rushing; we ended up ordering Fish & Chips from the hotel for our dinner and Arief really likes the popcorn chicken). We waited until 8.30am and we saw KLCC "turn off their lights" in stages; from the top to the bottom. It was priceless as most of the surrounding buildings "turn off their lights" as well :-)

 

 

 

 

Dinner with the newlyweds...

We brought Ijam & Zurita to "Famous Thai"; they arrived from Taiping at around 7.30pm. This time around we ordered Tom Yam Chicken, Mixed Vegetable Soup for Arief, Kerapu Sweet Sour Sauce, Mango Salad and Baby Kailan Salted Fish. Again the service is fast and Ijam gave high compliments on their Tomyam and rice. The Kerapu Sweet Sour Sauce is also excellent. We went back home with a full stomach and Arief fall asleep immediately :-)

Famous Thai Shah Alam Mall...

It has been years since I last visited "Famous Thai" at Shah Alam Mall; it was with my sister at their previous location (inside the Mall beside Guardian). The new location is at the old East India Outlet. BTW we bought Ben 10 DVD for Arief; the full 4 season and bonus 2 movies collection. We ordered Mango Salad, Mixed Vegetable soup for Arief, Fried Kangkong Belacan, Sizzling Beef, Tom Yam Chicken and Ice Longan & Ice Lemon tea for drinks. We ordered all in small servings but they are indeed huge. Their service is fast and the food is delicious; evidently by Arief sipping the mixed vegetable soup :-)

Chakri Palace KLCC...

We took the LRT to Chakri Palace KLCC for lunch; to celebrate our excellent performance rating from the management. We went to Amanah Raya first to settle our errands; it did took us awhile to locate the building. We ordered Mieng Kam for appertizers, Tom Yam with Sem Talay & Poo Nim Platter for our main dish and Longan Jelly & Water Melon juice to quench our thirst. It was as always delicious :-)

Shah Alam Mall & Sony Erricson..

We went to Shah Alam Mall to look for Eliza mobile phone and we bought Sony Ericsson W910i (Walkman Phone) in pink colour (matches her pink HP Notebook bag). We had our breakfast at Pak Long Kopitiam and I bought Arief his VCD / DVD; Ultraman and Madagascar 1. Eliza went to shop for her tudung and I spend time with Arief watching kids playing PS2 at the games center :-)

 

Bihun Sup at Subang Permai & Subang Parade...

We went a bit late to my sister house in Subang Permai as Arief was sound asleep; Mak Lang was here in Shah Alam to oversee the renovation at Fazlin's apartment. My sister prepared bihun sup with goreng pisang. Arief ate the bihun sup before continuing playing with Ilyas meanwhile Irfan was just watching his brother and cousin playing all around the house. We went to Subang Parade to survey HP for Eliza and also buy gifts for a birthday party next weekend; we bought at MPH (books). Eliza wanted Motorola but we were told by the mobile distributors that they will be shutting down the mobile division; no wonder it is so difficult to find Motorola nowadays. We also bought Mothercare t-shirt for Arief; the one with "I grab everything I want" and a plain white t-shirt for our family photograph session in the middle of April. I managed to find an office shoe for me; RM35 from Bata. Arief wanted to eat ice-cream and we drop by at McD; buying fries as well for Arief. He ate a few bites before going to play at the mini playground. BTW we bought Arief a mini Ultraman figurines for RM8 and he lost it at the Bata store :-)

       

IKEA Sale...

We went early as usual and we went straight for our breakfast at IKEA; it was around 11am and I managed to order two plates of char kueh teow (99cents per servings), daim cake, chicken pau, chicken wings, an apple juice for Arief and two hot beverages. The char kueh teow is very delicious and Arief likes it too. BTW we bought Arief Madagascar 2 VCD at Speedy Video before that. We bought the sheepskin rug at RM79 from the usual price RM169 (50% discount); Eliza been aiming for this item for ages. After IKEA we window shopped around IKANO and bought shoes for Eliza while I rode the mini animal car with Arief around IKANO. We did walked around the Curve before Arief fall asleep and we had our lunch at the Mamak Stall inside IKANO; share a plate of nasi briani :-)

Tennis, Zoo Negara, Tropicana Mall & Nasi Kandar...

We took Arief to Kompleks Sukan Bangsar to watch me play tennis there as we will be going to Zoo Negara for BH Kidz launching. We bought our breakfast at the nearby McDonalds and we ate at the tennis court (well we ate after I finish playing one set of double). Arief was keeping himself busy by playing with the tennis balls with my old Yamaha Tennis racquet (his own version of tennis). I showered at the sport complex after the tennis session; the shower facilities was just acceptable. We even showered Arief there as he was sweating from playing at the tennis courts. We arrived at Zoo Negara by 11.30am; I used the new DUKE Highway. The event had already started and we were just in time for the refreshments (Btw it was not that easy to locate the picnic area). We met with most of our colleagues there and Arief was enjoying the huge crowd fill with children. He even bought Upin & Ipin stickers and immediately sticks it to his Barney bag. Eliza went walking around the zoo with Arief while I stay at the picnic area with my colleagues. We decided not to stay longer at the zoo as it was very hot and we can't stand the smell. We drove out by 1.30pm and we were hungry. We stopped at the new Tropicana Mall but the F&B choices is very limited. We were there for less than half an hour; luckilly the parking was free. I was driving towards Subang Parade when we realized that Arief was sound asleep. We the drove straight to Shah Alam and I bought Nasi Kandar at Seksyen 7 :-)

Ijam & Zurita Wedding Part 04...

The morning of Ijam's wedding reception at Sri Kota and we were ready quite early as the reception will start at around 10.30am; marhaban. We wore matching chocolate ensemble of baju melayu and baju kurung. Arief looks so handsome wearing his baju melayu. My task is to welcome all guest to the reception as well as safe-keeping the money given. I wore a pouch bag that I found at Aiman closet in Pokok Assam and brought along walkies to communicate with Neng. Eliza is in-charge with my mother-in-law at the entrance of the house to welcome guest into the house; and also safe-keeping the money given. Arief is playing inside the house with his cousins as it was quite hot outside. The guest started to arrive around noon and I ushered them to the tent. Ijam & Zurita arrived at around 1pm and the coordination with Neng was excellent with the help of the walkies. The bride entourage was seated at a special table located at the neighbour's house. Alhamdulillah the reception went well; we did faced minor hiccups but it was manageable. I ate my lunch at around 2.30pm and I really like the "kurma daging kambing" and "acar buah". We went back to Pokok Assam for R&R at around 4.30pm and we spend close to one hour to count the money; RM2,345 in total. Arief was sleeping soundly at home as he is tired from playing all over the house with his cousins. We went back to Sri Kota after Maghrib for the "upacara buka hadiah" and satay was served as the main course as well as the "bubur kacang hijau"; leftovers from the wedding. Ijam & Zurita did received a lot of gifts; some of them are un-named and I claimed it was all coming from me. BTW we gave the bride & groom MAS return flight tickets to Kota Kinabalu :-)

 

Ijam & Zurita Wedding Part 03...

We went out at around 9.30am to buy more stuff for the door gifts; the shop is located at Taiping Bus Stand. We went back to Pokok Assam to get ourselves ready for Ijam's reception at Matang; we wore matching batik that we bought in Bandung. We arrived there by noon and everyone is already holding the "hantaran". Arief was sleeping inside the car as he still tired from yesterday playing with his cousins until midnight. The entourage parked our cars at the community hall which is quite far from the reception and it started to drizlle. We walked to the reception and Arief was still sleeping; he woked up upon approaching the house as it was quite hot. They were a lot of crowds at the wedding and we manage to come in the house for the "bersanding". I waited at the door as it was too crowded. We were treated to a scrumptious lunch at the main table after "bersanding". Arief was keeping himself busy by playing with the small pebbles while we ate. I really enjoy the "kurma daging", "ayam masak merah" and "udang goreng". BTW we found out that Acik Zakiah's Brother-in-law is Zurita headmaster; small world indeed :-)

We went back to Sri Kota late in the evening to help with tomorrow's reception. I was in-charged with the setting up of chairs and tables for "khemah". I went out with Yeop to buy eggs and sugar. We did stopped at Bomba for teh tarik. I bought the eggs and sugar at The Store behind "Berkat Supermarket" and on our way back we stopped at Big Seed to buy lamp for the main tent. They were having "bacaan doa selamat" at Sri Kota and I opted to sit outside as I was wearing shorts tonite; anticipating hard labour. We finish installing the chairs and tables by 11pm. Eliza did her briefing on everyone roles and responsibilities for tomorrow and we went back to Pokok Assam for the needed R&R around midnight and Arief was already sleeping inside the car :-)

 

Ijam & Zurita Wedding Part 02...

We woke up early on Friday to have our breakfast at Bismillah Restoran. We ordered the usual roti canai with teh tarik while Arief ate nasi lemak. We went to TESCO to buy Ijam's wedding gift and AVON to buy Eliza's stuff. I sent Eliza & Arief to Sri Kota before I went for my hair-cut at the famous "Welcome". The house is about ready for Ijam's wedding this Sunday and everybody is busy preparing for this evening "akad nikah" at Masjid Matang. I took Arief to TESCO again to buy his first imitation Ben 10 Omnitrix which cost me RM13.90 (later I found out that I can get it cheaper at Long Wan). We went back to Pokok Assam for lunch while Eliza did her hair with her sister. Eliza's hair session took longer than expected; finished at around 3.30pm and we rushed to get ready for Ijam's "Akad Nikah" after Asar. My mom went earlier with Acik Nan & Acik Zakiah and we arrived there by 5pm but we just missed Ijam's lafaz. BTW Eliza & Arief had a minor accident while going out from the car (high heels and Baju Kurung; not a good combination) and luckilly it was just bruises for Eliza and Arief just woke-up from his slumber without any injuries. We went back to Zurita's house to exchange the "hantaran" and for Ijam to give the wedding ring to Zurita. It was a bit crowded in the house so I ate outside with Arief; they served laksa and kuihs. We did went inside the house and I ate bihun goreng (which was said to be delicious). We went back to Pokok Assam to refreshed ourselves before coming back to Sri Kota to assist on the preparations (mostly on the door gifts) and Ijam's "Naik Pelamin" which started at 11pm :-)

Ijam & Zurita Wedding Part 01...

We took our annual leave since Thursday to drive back to Taiping earlier to assist during the wedding but Eliza had to attend an important meeting in the morning. I sent Arief to Little Caliphs and went to USJ Taipan to pick-up cheque from Sime Darby (deposit for renovation). Eliza was supposed to finish at around 11.30am but her meeting continue until 1.15pm. I waited at Old Town Kopitiam at Bangsar South; huge place with free underground parking. From Menara TM we drove to Kajang to pick-up shoes for Ijam and Neng's house. We had our lunch at Tuan Fatimah Ayam Kampung Puchong; one of my favourite venue for lunch. We arrived home at 3pm and we wanted to fetch Arief at Little Caliphs but he was still sleeping. We went home instead and finish our packing. We went back to Little Caliphs at 5pm and we drove back to Taiping. The journey was ok apart from the heavy rain. We ended up reaching Taiping at around 8pm. We ate dinner with my mom and sister before we went to Sri Kota to see the wedding preparation; and it is beautiful indeed :-)

Wedding at Subang Permai...

We went to Jusco Bukit Raja at around 9.30am and it was still closed; we breakfast at McD to wait for it to be opened at 10.30am. We finish shopping by 11.15am and we went home to re-fresh ourselves before going to a wedding at Subang Permai (my sister's neighbour which is Eliza's big boss). We had the benefits of knowing the area and we parked at my sister house. The other guest had to parked near to the mosque which is quite far from the house. Arief was sleeping when we arrive and he continue sleeping while we were having our lunch at the wedding. They served "kambing golek"; one of our favourite dish. We went to the wedding with my sister as Abg D is at home watching over Ilyas & Irfan. I really like the "kelapa muda" jelly dessert. Arief woke up as we were about to leave; he was sweating due to the heat eventhough he slept beside the mist fan. We went back to my sister house and Abd D went to the wedding. Arief spend time playing with Ilyas; watching Ultraman together while drinking 100 Plus :-)
