The Couplehood Journey of a Distort Soul....

IKEA & IronMan...

We sent Eliza to MATRADE early in the morning for her ASCPA exam and we drove to IKEA for our morning breakfast; only to find out that it will be open by 9am. We then walked to CURVE for breakfast at McDonalds. We did went into IKEA; by 9.30am and I bought wedding present as well as a few home essentials. We did enjoy IKEA soft ice-cream after we conclude our shopping at IKEA. As it was still early we went to Toy'R'Us and I still haven't bought a birthday gift for Arief. After walking for about half an hour; I then decided to buy Arief a complete set of IronMan toys; Helmet, Chest & Hand. Arief was so happy; and he immediately wore all three once we are in the car. And he continue wearing when we pick-up Eliza at MATRADE :-)

Boys Day Out...

As Eliza need to finish her studies for her upcoming ASCPA Exam on 1st May; I decided to go out with Arief for some needed retail therapy and both of us wore the same t-shirt @ Rafa Green Nike. We went to Empire Subang and we went to Toys'R'Us where Arief bought his remote control helicopter; advise age is 14++. Well I have to play for Arief then. We then had our lunch at Nyonya's Corner; Arief ate nasi lemak while I ate curry mee. Then we went to the 2nd Floor for TANGS Branded Sale where Arief bought my Mac & iPad carry case at 80% discounts; good offers indeed. As as usual Arief need to go to the toilet; big time and he accidentally peed on his pants while doing his stuff. Major catastrophe but I do have his extra clothes in the car; so Arief had to walk in his wet pants to our car park. Luckilly we park nearby :-)

Birthday Dinner @ BBQ at Holiday Villa Subang Jaya...

We went for my birthday dinner at Holiday Villa Subang Jaya; via Groupon. We arrived by 7.30am and we immediately went to our table which was reserved just beside the BBQ grill. Without hesitation I attack the meat and lamb as usual. Arief really enjoy sipping the mushroom soup as well as enjoying sausages. Well me & Eliza mostly ate lamb & beef; with the occasionally satay + vegetables + bread pudding + fruits + coffee. The buffet spread is just simple and nice. It is a bit hot though; they do need to provide better ventilation at the venue. We arrived home by 9pm and Arief was already sound asleep. Well I'm 37 this year and anxiously waiting to embark on a new journey soon :-)

Little Caliphs Sports Day...

Today is Arief's sports day; held at TTDI Jaya. We were there by 8am and it was already crowded. We manage to find a small parking space beside the entrance; we drove our cute Aveo today. Arief wore his sports attire but he was supposed to wear black t-shirt for his march. Luckilly we brought along his extra t-shirt which happens to be black in colour. Arief is one of the flag bearers at the back and he even participated in the performance.  Arief participated in one game during his sports day; and his team finish last. And the best part is when we participated in the family game; we had to carry arief around a small cone and run back to the starting line. We finished 2nd and we received our prizes :-)

Upin & Ipin The Musical...

I managed to secure three tickets for 8.30pm show on 17th April 2012. We had to rushed back from the office; and to make the matter worst it was raining. We ended up arriving by 6.30pm. We immediately took our shower and we started our journey after Maghrib. We brough along Oreos for Arief light dinner; he was unsure where we will be going as we plan a suprise for him. I took NSE towards Jalan Duta; minor traffic approaching Damansara exit and we reached Istana Budaya with 10 minutes to spare. Arief was already excited after watching Upin & Ipin banners all over Istana Budaya and he can't contact his excitement upon entering the lobby. We bought sandwiches for our light dinner before we went in to take our seat. The musical show lasted for 2 hours and Arief was wide awake until the end. It was indeed an entertaining show. It was already 11pm and we drove to Kampung Baru for Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa. We reached home by 12.15am. Btw Arief wore my old sweater; the one that my sister gave to me when I was in primary school :-)

Brunch at Darabif Burger IOI Mall...

We went for our brunch at Darabif Burger at IOI Mall Puchong; via Groupon. I bought the family meal for just RM27 instead of RM43; we got 2 burgers (chicken & beef), 2 mini burgers (chicken & beef), 4 fries, 4 soft drinks, 6 pieces of nugget, corn nachos with dip and 4 vanilla ice-cream. It was indeed a huge servings for the three of us; and we had to bring back home 2 burgers as were so full after eating fries. The burgers is quite delicious with huge beef patties. We then walked around IOI Mall; noticed Toys'R'Us and we went in to survey Arief's birthday present (his birthday is on 31st May). We ended up buying his birthday gift; an air hockey table. We told him that he can only play on his birthday but knowing Arief he immediately open the box upon arriving home :-)

Lunch at Hainan Tea...

It is a public holiday and we went for our lunch at Hainan Tea in Puchong; again via Groupon. I use my trusted GPS and we arrived within 15 minutes; we even manage to find a parking nearby. We proceed straight to our reserved table inside. The atmosphere is quite pleasant even with a full house. We ordered their signature chicken rice; roasted, steam and BBQ. We also received 2 cheong fun. All were delicious; we do prefer roasted chicken as compared to the steam and BBQ. Arief even ordered his Volcano Drink @ Iced Milo :-)

Beef Ribs at Tony Roma's...

We went to Tony Roma's 1Mont Kiara for our lunch; Beef Ribs. It took me awhile to locate the entrance to 1Mont Kiara as I use LDP; ended up paying two tolls as I mistakenly enter the highway again. We were there by 11am; ample time for us to explore 1Mont Kiara. Arief wanted to play at the huge chess + jenga + snake & ladder + connect; but we manage to convince him to have his lunch first before playing (as RM50 entitles you to 4 coupons to play the game). We immediately order our beef ribs as well as cheeseburger for Arief. Eventhough the portion seems small but it was indeed delicious. We were so full from our lunch. And Arief gets to play at the giant games :-)

WTA BMW Malaysian Open 2012...

I won 2 VIP Hospitality Pass for Saturday session and I plan to go with Eliza & Arief. My friend also won for Friday session but as he will be going back to NS for a family wedding, he gave his pass to me with request for Player Signature. I went after Friday prayers and manage to watch a few matches. The hospitality is indeed interesting; especially on the free flow of food & beverages. Delicious. I think I spend more time eating than watching the match in progress. And I manage to secure Petra signature on the pass. On Saturday I went with Eliza & Arief and again we were seated in the Hospitality booth. Food was again delicious but pity it was raining for a good half an hour. We took our seat at the Verandah and it so happens our Sport Minister decide to sit in the same row; I manage to chat briefly before excusing ourselves. It was already 6,30pm and we were here since 2.30pm. The rain continues again the anticipated match between Jankovic and Matic is reschedule to Sunday morning; allowing me to utilize the Hospitality pass again. This time I went with Farid and we thoroughly enjoy the match. And again I manage to secure Matic signature on my passes :-)

Dinner Buffet @ Carnaval Churrascaria...

We finally went for our dinner buffet ar Carnaval Churrascaria. I opted to work from home today as our Auto-Gate is broken and in need of immediate repair which was completed in the evening. I went with Arief to Kelana Jaya LRT Station to pick-up Eliza but as it was already jam packed we decided to have our dinner at Carnaval Churrascaria. Their meal buffet is priced at RM61 per adults (Arief ate for free). It was indeed delicious with their free flow of meat on skewers. We particularly enjoy their lamb, chicken ham, pineapple, beef, chicken in curry spices, sausages and garlic bread. It was worth every RM spent :-)

Hard Rock Hotel Penang...

After much persuasion from Arief we finally went to Hard Rock Hotel Penang (this is our third trip since it's maiden opening in 2009). We began our journey from Pokok Assam after lunch; stopping at Padang Kota for Eliza's favourite sotong bakar. We arrived by 4pm and enjoy the complimentary welcoming drink. We then check-in into our sea-view room # 504 and Arief immediately change into his swimming attire. We went down to the pool by 5pm and Arief was extremely happy; playing all over the swimming pool until 6.30pm. We had to stopped as it was about to rain. We then had our dinner at Hard Rock Cafe nearby with 15% discounts. We opt for the mix appetizers while Arief had his kids meal of chicken and chips. It was indeed delicious. The next morning we enjoy our early buffet breakfast and we plan to play at the swimming pool again. Again Arief was grinning from ears to ears and we finally check-out by 10am. It was an enjoyable trip to Hard Rock Hotel and we will come back again this year :-)

Cameron Highland Family Holiday Part 2...

We decided to cut short our family trip to Cameron Highland as my mom is not feeling well due to the cold weather last night. I went with Eliza to Ringlet to buy our packed breakfast; roti canai, nasi lemak and meehoon goreng. We checked out by 10am and we plan to drive to Boh Plantation. The road going up to Boh Plantation @ Gunung Brinchang was quite scary indeed and then we realized that Boh Plantation is closed on Monday. We then decided to drive up to the Strawberry Farm; again a scary drive. And to our suprise the farm has ran out of strawberries due to Chinese New Year weekend. But we had fun taking funny pictures there. We then drove down to buy our fresh vegetables & fruits at the nearby market as well as dropped by Bharat Tea Plantations for scones. We reached Ipoh by 2pm and proceed to have lunch at Restoran Tasik Raban nearby Stadium Indera Mulia. We finally arrived in Taiping by 4.30pm; in need of a good rest :-)

Cameron Highland Family Holiday Part 1...

My sister manage to book Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan Bungalow in Cameron Highland for our family holiday; it was only RM100 per night. We started our journey to Taiping at 8am and arrive safely by 11am. My mom prepared home cooked lunch for all of us; just the right tonic to boost my energy for our drive to Cameron Highland from Taiping. We began our journey by 2.30pm and reached Rumah Peranginan Persekutuan by 4.30pm; a good 2 hours drive via Simpang Pulai. The bungalow is indeed huge and clean. Arief enjoys the company of his cousins; Ilyas and Irfan; and they enjoy playing all over the huge hall. We had our home cooked evening tea before heading out to Tanah Rata for Bharat Tea; no scones though as it was nearer their closing time. We ended up buying our dinner at Tanah Rata pasar malam; apam balik with fried mee, kuehteow and meehoon. We manage to watch Australian Open Final at the bungalow; congratulations to Nole for winning in 5 sets; the longest set in a Grand Slam Final :-)

Kuantan Day Trip @ Ameer Wedding...

We began our journey from Shah Alam by 9am; travelling with Eliza's parents to Kuantan. We decide to pit-stop at Temerloh R&R; waiting for Eliza's sister to arrive. We then continue our journey and we arrive at the wedding by 1pm. It was just nice as the bride & groom has not arrived yet. We were ushered to the main table inside and all of us thoroughly enjoy the feast. We started our journey back to Shah Alam by 3pm; stopping by Tanjung Lumpur to buy Keropok Lekor and Coconut Jelly. We arrived home by 6pm; tired but enjoy the delicious feast. In need of our rest as we will be travelling to Taiping & Cameron Highland tomorrow :-)

Lunch @ Alamanda...

We had our morning breakfast at the Executive lounge and I think we spend almost an hour there; it was so private and Arief enjoy watching the TV while having his cereal. We then went to Alamanda for lunch with Fadzli, Azura, baby Mikhail, Acik Nan & Acik Zakiah. We opted for the food court as we have fond memories there with Arief. Eliza had Ipoh Hor Fun while Arief ate nasi with chicken masak merah. I opted for sizzling chicken mushroom yee mee. We had a blast catching up with all of them and baby Mikhail is so cute with his chubby cheeks :-)

CPA & Marriot Putrajaya...

I finish my tennis session earlier as we had plans to visit CPA Open Day at Gardens; Eliza recently register for ASCPA and will do her first paper in early May; with 5 more papers and we target full completion by end 2014. This is part of our plans to work in Australia by 2015. We then went shopping at Mark's & Spencer, Eliza bought jeans and we bought gifts for the birthday celebration at Marriot Putrajaya today. We the drove to Marriot Putrajaya for the birthday gatherings. My friend Dref have booked a private room and all of us enjoy the massive buffet spread. We were supposed to suprise his wife upon their arrival but the wifes mistakenly waited by the lift and that is where they come out. But it was still a big suprise. Eliza & Arief went to our room at Marriot Putrajaya and I continue with my club meeting until 5pm (continue eating as well). We went down to the swimming pool by 6pm and Arief was so happy. He didn't play on the slides though but we did went into the big pool; and the best part it is a heated pool. Arief went up to our hotel room with Eliza by 7pm while I continue to laze by the pool with my friends. We went for our dinner at Restoran Mohd Chan Bangi but Arief fall asleep in the journey; tired from playing in the swimming pool. We decided to take-away nasi goreng cina for him and it was an excellent decision indeed as Arief woke up upon entering our hotel room and ate his dinner :-)

Days of Family sickness recovering....

Monday
We started our journey from Taiping by 9am and we reached Shah Alam by noon; and we immediately send Arief to Little Caliphs for his Silat Reheasal. We then went straight to Poliklinik Damai Seksyen 7 for my medicine and we went home for lunch; home cooked meal from my mom. I opted to sleep after lunch for some needed rest. 

Tuesday
I was still not feeling well and I was supposed to send Arief to his Silat presentation at Little Caliphs this morning. But Arief upon seeing me not feeling well opted to stay at home to watch over me instead of going to his Silat presentation.  I was feeling very dizzy from the medicine and fever and was just spending most of the time laying on the sofa while Arief continue to play with his PSP & iPad nearby. I manage to push myself at noon and we went to Shah Alam Mall where we sent our WISH for detailing and we bought Mcd & KFC's for our lunch. Arief continue to eat his lunch while I opted to just rest on the sofa downstairs.

Wednesday
I'm feeling a bit better but Arief started to cough and running a slight fever.  I took him to Poliklinik Damai for his medicine and send him to Little Caliphs by 10am. I then went to One Utama to watch Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal with my sister + Abg D + Iffah. I was so hungry that I ate fish & chips at the cinemas with popcorn. I picked up Arief by 3pm and went for our lunch at Restoran Ayam Kampung Seksyen 7. We had to drive to Menara TM to pick-up Eliza in the evening as the Aveo alarm is not functioning properly; lucky for us the traffic was clear. But Eliza's is sick and we immediately went to Poliklinik Damai for her medicine.

Thursday
Both Eliza & Arief is resting at home and I went to play tennis at Seksyen 7 Shah Alam with a few of my friends. I bought roti canai & roti krim from Eliza & Arief for their breakfast. I finish my tennis at 11am; tired but in need of the exercise. We ended up having our lunch at 2.30pm at Restoran Famous Thai Shah Alam Mall. We opted for Cantonese Kueh Teow with Pineapple Fried Rice & Claypot Taufoo.

Friday 
Eliza opted to go to the office while I spend the day with Arief; going for breakfast at Restoran Hakim Seksyen 7 as Arief wanted to have the fried chicken. Arief is still not feeling well and he has a slight fever in the evening. I do need to monitor his condition and if it still persist then we have to bring Arief to visit Poliklinik Damai tomorrow morning.

Kenduri di Matang...

I was not feeling very well today due to rambutan and durian that I consume yesterday night. Arief woke up early and play helicopter with Ilyas & Irfan at our courtyard. We went to Matang by noon; and arrive just is time for the doa selamat. The meal was superb; ala nasi kenduri with nasi minyak + kari daging + ayam masak merah + daging rendang + kerabu perut and my mom prepared bubur kacang with durian. We thoroughly enjoy our lunch and family gathering and we went back to Pokok Assam by 4pm. I was exhausted from the mild fever and I slept until 6.30pm. We went back for dinner at Matang by 8.30pm; Arief was already sound asleep. It's the same menu and still delicious. We drove back to Pokok Assam by 10.30pm; and we need to drive home early tomorrow as Arief has a silat reaheasal for a show on 27th December :-)

Aqiqah & Taiping...

We had our morning breakfast at Mcd Seksyen 3 Shah Alam (we opted for the breakfast set) before we began our journey to Bandar Baru Bangi for my cousin's Kenduri Aqiqah for his new baby girl. We reached my cousin's in-laws house by 12.30pm; assisted via my trusted Papago GPS. We manage to arrive just in time for the cukur rambut ceremony. They served kari kambing with sambal tumis udang and gulai lemak ikan. We enjoyed our meal tremendously and we waited for my sis to arrive from Shah Alam; they arrive by 2pm due to miss-direction along the way (got lost as well). Arief then played iPad with Ilyas & Irfan while we chatted with Wan Jah & Pak Pian. Irfan has grown bigger as he has started to eat Appeton to increase his weight; evidently with his tight pants and bulging tummy. We then started our journey back to Taiping by 3.30pm from Bandar Baru Bangi. My father-in-law told me that my sister-in-law is stuck in a jam on NKVE and advises us to consider other routes; luckilly Eliza contacted her sister and the traffic jam was kinda manageable. We opted for NKVE and true enough the traffic jam is bearable and we reached Taiping by 7pm; where my mom's home cooked dinner is waiting for all of us :-)

 

La-Gomera Spanish Buffet...

We went to La-Gomera for our lunch; spanish buffet. I bought the GroupOn coupons weeks back and we manage to book our reservation. We arrived by 12.30pm and it was quite crowded. We were ushered to our table and we began selecting our meals. Arief ate the vegetable fried rice with grilled salmon. Both of us opted for grilled lamb, beef & chicken with pizza. The salad bar is quite impressive but the lamb stew was a bit smelly. They do serve a lot of seafood of which I avoided. The beverages is free-flow and the dessert is just nice :-)

Teluk Intan @ Day Trip...

We had our morning breakfast with Yeop at Restoran Syed Sekyen 11 Shah Alam before driving to Teluk Intan via Kapar, Kuala Selangor & Sabar Bernam route. It took us 2.5 hours to reach Teluk Intan and it was such a smooth driving despite the light drizzle. We immediately had lunch at Ijam's house and we drive back to Shah Alam by 2pm as Arief has his tennis lesson at 5pm. On the way back I stopped to buy pisang goreng, jus mangga and jagung rebus. Well the goreng pisang is so sweet and nice; Jus mangga was fresh but a bit dissapointment on the jagung rebus. I opted to use LATAR via Ijok to Shah Alam as I plan to escape the evening jam at Kapar. The new highway is quite interesting; total RM4 in toll and it will linked back with Lebuhraya Guthrie. I arrived home by 4.45pm; picked up my laundry and rush to Kelana Jaya for Arief tennis lesson; just in time :-)

R.E.A.L. School, Kenduri, Teluk Intan & BBQ

I went for my usual tennis session in Bangsar very early @ 7.30am as we have a full schedule today. I arrived home by 9.30am and we drove out to my sister house in Subang Permai by 10.30am. We visited R.E.A.L. School; options for Arief in 2013. The school is quite impressive and the fees is affordable but our main challenges will be the logistics as it is quite far from Seksyen 7 Shah Alam. From R.E.A.L. we drove to Haza's house in Damansara for Dekda Kenduri Doa Selamat; she will be giving birth in February 2012. The lunch menu (ikan masin, ulam kampung, sambal belacan, sambal nyor, daging kawah, ayam masak merah and mix veggies) is home-cooked and it is indeed delicious. I really like the green apam that Kak Zah make; different and sweet. Even the bubur kacang is excellent. We started our journey to Teluk Intan by 2pm and arrive by 4pm; the journey was so smooth and the weather is excellent. We immediately went to check-in at Intan Hotel; nearby to Ijam's house. I duly rested before we drove to Ijam's house for our BBQ gatherings. It took me awhile to start the BBQ fire and we started cooking by 8pm; chicken + frankfurters + squids. Ita cooked nasi goreng + fries as well and we ate until 10.30pm. By then Arief was already due to playing all over the house with his cousins and we retreated back to out hotel for a good night sleep :-)

Otak2, Puss in Boots, Rasa Thai & Tutti Fruitti...

We went to One Utama for our weekend family outing and it was a blast. We went for our breakfast at Otak2; where Arief again bought his glider and played Snaps & Donkey with Eliza while waiting for our food to be ready. We ordered nasi lemak set, vegetarian BBQ chicken pao, kaya & butter toast with omega half-boiled eggs. After breakfast we went to Parkson; Arief bought remote control car, Cars 2 Bag & Water Bottle, Spiderman pencil box and stationeries. Arief even bought shoes for Eliza @ birthday gift. And we also bought Reebok shoes for Arief; of which he immediately wore. Eliza manage to get a hair-cut for RM15; cutting for charity campaign. As we were rushing to catch Puss in Boots at 12.30pm; a professional hair-dresser decided to cut her hair instead of the students and it turn out excellent. We bought the usual popcorn and all of us enjoy the movie. We drove back home for a short rest before driving to Shah Alam Mall for our late lunch @ Rasa Thai. Arief ate cantonese kuehteow while Eliza had clear tom yam soup. I ordered pineapple fried rice with sizzling bean curds. Everything was delicious and Arief finish all his servings. We then went for our monthly groceries shopping at Giant. It was raining heavilly when we wanted to go back and we decided to enjoy a bowl of Tutti-Fruitti :-)

 

Arief's Little Caliphs Concert...

Arief have been practising for weeks at Little Caliphs for his up-coming concert; we have been asking him what will he be doing this time but Arief just keep quiet. The day came and all of us went to see Arief in action; we were quite late due to the traffic jam approaching USJ. The hall was already full and we manage to book our seat on the left. Arief's performance is scheduled late in the evening. And then finally the curtains is up for Arief performance; they danced to the Nirmala song make famous by Dato' Siti Norhaliza. Arief was standing on the left of the stage and he waves to us as we are already seated infront of the stage to take his pictures and videos. Arief wore a black ansemble complete with a head gear. Arief remembers all his steps in the performance and we are so proud of him. We didn't wait until the end of the concert ceremony as we will be going to my sister house in Subang Permai to celebrate Ilyas's birthday :-)

Ramadhan 2011 @ Day 27...

We began our journey from Shah Alam at 8am today; make a quick pit-stop at McDonalds Seksyen 9 Shah Alam to buy breakfast meal for Arief. Journey was smooth via Bukit Jelutong Expressway but we were caught in a traffic jam approaching Rawang; mainly due to traffic accidents. It was again smooth driving until the Slim River & Sungkai stretch. After that it was again smooth all the way. I maintain a speed limit of 110 km/h and we arrive in Taiping by noon. Again make a quick pit-stop at KFC Taiping to buy lunch for Arief. I manage to rest @ sleep from 2pm to 4pm and we went to Matang for our berbuka. We had kari ikan semilang with sambal tumis udang petai and kerabu perut; delicious :-)

Reading Workshop & A.Hassan Ayam Kampung...

We went to Little Caliphs Reading Workshop held at SMK TTDI Jaya Shah Alam. We were a bit late as we thought it started at 9.30am. We sent Arief to his teachers as they have A&W session for the kids and we went up to the 1st Floor for the briefing on reading for kids @ phonetics. The session finish by 11am and we bought Malay and English song book, poster & VCD for Arief; useful tools for Arief to practise reading at home and in the car. Arief got his A&W Meals @ Burger + Fries + Root Beer; he didn't ate much as I don't think he likes burgers. We then went to Restoran A.Hassan for lunch. Initially went to Tupai2 but it was kinda empty. I ate nasi with Ayam Kampung and a lot of vegetables while Eliza + Arief share nasi with ikan keli goreng. I manage to have a conversation with the family beside us on Arsenal and their chances this season; I was wearing the new Arsenal jersey and he asked me on the Barcelona game :-)

Family Time...

We went to my sister house for some quality family time for Arief, Ilyas and Irfan. I bought nasi kerabu + nasi dagang + nasi lemak at Restoran Soto Seksyen 8. The kids had a blast playing all over the house and playing on the iPad. We then went to Taman Tun Dr Ismail for lunch with Eliza's Aunt @ Mak Long Piah and Elina's family. We went to Restoran Sambal Hijau @ Pencala and it was indeed packed. Food spread was ok with a lot of vegetables and the famous sambal hijau. It was raining during our lunch but it stopped by the time we decided to go back home :-)

Birthday Anis @ Pak Long Kopitiam...

We celebrate Anis 7th year old birthday at Pak Long Kopitiam; over hot steamboat. Arief was already sleepy when we arrive; guess he is tired from playing at Little Caliphs earlier but he still manage to buy his Ultraman DVD from Speedy Video. We ordered three sets of steamboat dishes; chicken, beef and prawn as well as other side dishes. It was a joyous celebration minus the birthday cake :-)

Tennis & Pak Long Steamboat...

I took Arief to his tennis session at JKR tennis court Shah Alam; started at 8am until 10am. It was fun watching Arief trying to concentrate as he is quite playful but he does follow the coach instructions; well most of the time. One good thing is that I can see that Arief has a good follow-through on his swings; excellent basics. And he finish his 100Plus by 10am. We went home to refresh before heading out to Shah Alam Mall @ lunch. We bought KFC for Arief and then we went to try steamboat at Restoran Nelayan (new offerings). We really like the settings here; everything is still new and it is quite delicious. We still order our favourite claypot rice though. After lunch we went for a brief shopping at Giant before heading back home :-)

CNY 2011 @ IKEA...

We went to IKEA for our breakfast. We were there by 10.30am and parking was easy (it was still empty). We bought curry puff at IKEA food kiosks before walking to their cafe @ RM1 for nasi goreng kampung and popiah. BTW we misplaced the curry puff and I had to walked back to buy again (worth the walk as it was delicious). We saw a few groups having their breakfast in their red attire (nice but not as many as in 2010). We then went for a brief shopping trip inside IKEA and as usual Arief will push the kid trolley. I manage to buy three Ecko Jeans for RM30 @ clearance at Brands Outlet before we walked to Curve @ Metrojaya to buy toys; Arief finally decided to buy two Ben 10 figurines; Kevin & Big Chill (retail at RM16.90 each; 50% discount) and superman underwear. We were undecided on where to have our lunch and we intially went to Restoran Assam Pedas; but it was actually the old restaurant but with a new name (bad experience before). We then opted for Kelantan food at Pantai Dalam; and to our dismay it was closed. The nearest option is Ravi's and we had our banana rice with fried chicken and squids :-)

Subang Parade, Uncle Lim's & Shah Alam Mall...

We sent Arief to Little Caliphs; a bit late @ 9am and they had already started their morning session at the nearby playground. We went to Subang Parade for some needed retail therapy where Eliza bought shoes. We then have our lunch at Uncle Lim's; mushroom mee and chicken porridge. We enjoy our dessert @ McDonalds Sundaes before driving to Shah Alam Mall. Elize went for another retail therapy with her sister Elina & Anis while I went to JPJ Padang Jawa with Haziq to renew Eliza's driving license. We meet up again at KFC Shah Alam Mall for our tea-break and we bought chicky meal for Arief (free new Looney Tunes water tumbler). We fetch Arief at Little Caliphs by 5pm++ and we took Arief to the nearby playground. He played while having his KFC and we went back home by 6pm as it was already drizzling :-)

WCM 16th SD Part 01...

We went out from our house by 5.30am as we plan to reach Sepang F1 by 6am. I was still tired as I came home from Sepang F1 (event preparation) yesterday at 1am and was only able to sleep by 2am. I set the alarm at 4am but only woke up at 4.30am; indeed it was rush for us to get ready as all of us were still sleepy especially Arief. We arrive just nice at 6am and after finishing our solat subuh we took our TW for a spin inside the F1 circuit. It was still dark and we need use the high beam to drive; it was indeed a fun drive. We then drove our TW nearby the paddock for the event to begin; and as more and more TW make their way to the paddock by 8am the line-up was tremendous. We drove one lap again and this time we park our TW at the starting grid. Arief was really happy watching all the TW driving inside Sepang F1 Circuit; in slow speed of course. And then we drove our final lap before exiting at the paddock entrance for the Treasure Hunt to begin :-)

McD, Detailing, Munawarrah & Me'Nate...

We went for our morning breakfast at McD Seksyen 3 Shah Alam and Arief got his Wolverine toys; now left to buy Hulk and Spiderman. From McD we went to MPV as I plan to do detailing on our Wish; in preparation for the upcoming 16th SD next weekend. We waited at MPV Customer Lobby and enjoy the free massage chair. We then went for our lunch at Restoran Munawarrah @ Chinese-Muslim cuisine at Seksyen 9 Shah Alam where we ordered Ying Yong and Wantan Mee. Our food adventure continues to Me'Nate in the evening located in Ampang. We went with my WCM BBG and we ordered Wagyu Beef and Lamb. Price is a bit expensive though (RM119) but indeed it is delicious. We hurried back to Shah Alam as my uncle is at my sis-in-law house with his son @ Ewan who just came back from Sydney (Semester Break). We were actually full but couldn't resist the hot fish curry as well as sambal belacan + ulam. Not to forget the Australian Cherries :-)

McD Seksyen 3...

We had plan for our movie outing @ dating but it was public holiday instead; Little Caliphs is closed. So we went for our brunch at McD Seksyen 3. Eliza wanted to ate hot cakes and I wanted the lunch meal. So we arrived there at 10.45am; just in time for breakfast meal and need to wait for a few minutes for lunch. Arief got his Iron Man toy from his happy meal. My sister arrive shortly after that with Ilyas + Irfan. I bought Big Mac for my lunc; as well as more Happy Meal for both Ilyas and Irfan. It was a blast watching all of them plays with their Iron Man toys in McD :-)

Morning at Belum Resort & Talapia Bakar...

It was raining when we woke up and it was refreshing indeed. I manage to walk around the resort while waiting for Eliza & Arief to get ready and it was indeed beautiful with it's nature elements. Btw we had to use umbrella to walk to the breakfast hall; umbrella is provided at every corridor. The breakfast spread was just nice and we sat inside as it was still raining but the view from the restaurant is amazing. We really like the bihun goreng with sambal nasi lemak. Arief as usual enjoy his koko krunch with milk while watching Pink Panther in YouTube. We check-out by 10am and stayed at the lobby until 10.30am reading newspaper. It was still raining when we started our journey from Belum Resort and we arrived at Restoran Tasik Raban by 12.30pm; just nice as after that three express buses stopped there for lunch. We ordered Ikan Talapia Bakar with various kampung vegetables and ulam. It was delicious and cheap (RM35 total). Btw Malaysia won the AFF Suzuki Cup; they lost 1-2 in Indonesia but won on 4-2 overall :-)

Tasik Raban & Pulau Banding...

We had our morning breakfast buffet at the hotel. The spread was just nice and we really like the bihun goreng and chicken porridge. We check-out by 10am and started our journey to Pulau Banding. We did make a brief stop at Tasik Raban Resort; the road leading to the resort is quite bad but the view of Tasik Raban is beautiful. After exiting the Tasik Raban bridge I noticed a restaurant @ Restoran Tasik Raban and my sister recommend for us to try this place for lunch. And it was indeed an excellent lunch; cheap and delicious. We took ikan keli goreng with various ulams and sambal tempoyak. Even Arief enjoy eating Ikan keli goreng :-)

We drove past Lenggong (my sister used to work there years back) and reached Gerik at about 2pm. The road to Pulau Banding is quite challenging and we safely reach Belum Rainforest Resort by 3pm. The registration was smooth and we were ushered to our room. We were at awe at the beautiful design (no TV and it is a nature resort). Arief immediately took his bath in the huge shower. Then an accident happen; Arief drop the glass while he was showering. He immediately ran out and we noticed that his left foot is bleeding @ slight cut. I went to our car and took out our Medical Kit while telling the housekeeping to clear the broken glasses in the shower. Arief was a bit shocked if the accident and cried when Eliza bandaged his left foot. We then immediately drive back to Gerik to visit the nearest clinic for further check-up. Alhamdulilah it was just a small cut. It was such a huge relief :-)

We drove back to Belum Rainforest Resort; not before stopping at Gerik to buy fried bananas and roti gardenia for Arief. We reached there by 5.30pm and we went straight to Sidai Cafe for some needed R&R. We ordered sandwiches and karipap with teh tarik and nescafe tarik. Arief was busy playing with his playing cards; obviously all the good cards is with him and eventhough we have the better card Arief will always find a reasong that his card will win (quite funny actually). We went back to our room to refreshed before having our buffet dinner at the hotel @ RM35 per person. The spread was just nice and delicious. BTW the Wifi here is excellent and we can watched YouTube via iPad in our hotel room :-)

Felda Residences Hot Springs...

We opted for a brief vacation in Sg Klah Hot Springs. We started our journey from Taiping at 11.30am; we had our morning breakfast of Bismillah Roti Canai with my mom. We exited at Bidor for our lunch as Tapah RNR was too packed. We drove around Bidor town for awhile before we decide to visit a local restaurat serving rice and it was indeed delicious. From Bidor we just drove straight to Sungkai and enter Sg Klah which is located inside the Felda plantations. We immediately wnen to check-in at the hotel and it was quite fast. We were ushered to our room @ 103 and it is just a walking distance to the hot springs. The weather was just excellent. We walked to the Mountain Springs Pool and it was quite crowded. We took a spot beside the pool and I went in with Arief. It was indeed cold and Arief enjoy playing in the water. We then went to the hot pool and it was indeed refreshing but kinda dirty. We didn't manage to boil any eggs there; they ran out of eggs. We finished our session at the therapy garden before walking back to our room. We had our early dinner at the hotel restaurant @ local buffet at RM20 per head :-) 

Kenduri, Rapunzel and Malaysia...

We went to Padang Rengas at around noon for a kenduri and the main dish is kambing golek @ our favourite. It was quite easy to locate their house with the map given with the invitation. Well we basically attack the delicious kambing golek on display while Arief had a blast eating the ayam masak merah. We arrived home by 3pm; just enough time for us refreshed before driving out to Taiping Sentral for Rapunzel at Big Cinema with Elina, Haziq and Anis. It was not crowded allowing Arief to even walk around the cinema hall. The movie was quite enjoyable. We rushed back home as I plan to watch the Suzuki Cup final between Malaysia and Indonesia. I went to Rahman restaurant but it was packed. I then opted for Deena Seafood and took a table near their TV. I ordered kuehteow bandung while waiting for Farid @ WCM to arrive. First half was a bit boring but it was a fantastic 2nd half; with laser incident and three beautiful goals from Malaysia which ended 3-0 in favour to Malaysia. Huge advantage to be taken to the 2nd leg final in Jakarta next Wednesday :-)

McD, Taiping & Kenduri...

We drove back to Taiping with my mom today for our one week holiday @ cuti 1Malaysia TM. I went for my morning tennis session at Bangsar first before we started our journey but not before we had our brunch at McD Seksyen 3. The driving back was smooth and we reached Taiping by 2.30pm and manage to buy nasi briani kantin polis for our lunch and cendol for our refreshment. We went to Sri Kota in the late evening and I manage to have my hair trim at Kedai Gunting Rambut Ruby or famously known as Welcome. I went to my fellow WCM member @ Rosmy Kenduri Aqiqah at Taman Menteri Matang. The lamb and air assam was delicious. It was followed by a brief TT session at Simpang RNR with my fellow Taiping WCM :-)

Pak Li Kopitiam, Bowling & Summit...

We will be participating in WCM Bowling Tournament in Summit USJ at noon and we decided to have our brunch at Pak Li Kopitiam first @ Nasi Ayam Lemon + Chicken porridge. We arrived at Summit USJ by 11am and it took us awhile to locate the bowling center; basically the same floor as GSC Cinema. Eliza did bought Crocs shoes while we were walking up to the bowling alley. The crowd was already buzzing in anticipation of the bowling tournament and I was paired in Group 9 with DreFendy & Snizamas. Eliza played at the nearby lane with DreFendy wife @ Linda. We started the tournament by 12.30pm; 3 frames for me and 2 frames for Eliza. It was really tiring actually as we don't play bowling that often (the last time was in Genting). The highlight is when I manage to secure Turkey at last frame and I remember Eliza manage to get one strike. To my suprise my team won 5th placing and we receive hampers. After bowling we took Arief to play at the nearby Arcade before we did a brief shopping at Summit Flea Market; we bought books, toys and led flash light. We ended up at Adidas Factory Store where we bought Arief sandals as well as one green Adidas United t-shirt. We arrived home by 5pm; feeling hungry. Eliza immediately cooked Nasi Goreng Ikan Bilis for our early dinner :-)

Toy'R'Us...

We started our journey from Taiping by 9.30am and we arrived in Shah Alam by 12.30pm. As we were still full from our heavy breakfast in Pokok Assam; we decided to visit Toy'R'Us at Empire Subang. Arief received the Toys"R"Us catalogue recently and he has ticked the toy that he wanted to buy @ bicycle. We immediately went to survey the many bicycle on display; at first we wanted to buy Toy Story 3 bicycle but it did not came with the full accessories @ bells. We then opted for another model; red & black in colour. While waiting for them to assemble Arief immediately went to the NERF section and wants to buy the big gun. Well I was tempted as well but we manage to convince Arief to buy Disney jigsaw puzzle instead :-)

Balik Kampung & Daging Korban...

We went back to Taiping to celebrate post Raya Haji; we had our morning breakfast of roti canai + nasi lemak with Eliza's parents before we began our journey at around 9.30am. We arrived in Taiping by 12.30pm; just nice for lunch @ my mom's home cooked meal. After lunch I went to visit my fellow WCM @ Farid77 for his Kenduri Aqiqah. Arrived there quite late @ 2pm but the food @ daging korban is still there. I really enjoy having daging kurma with air assam but couldn't ate sup daging as I was too full. We went out in the late evening and we manage to have Cendol Ansari's before it rains @ Arief really likes having cendol. We went to Sri Kota to check on the Streamyx connection @ wifi is excellent but do need to change the computer though. And we manage to play with baby safia before we went back to Pokok Assam for some needed R&R and dinner :-)

Hari Raya Haji 2010...

We celebrated Hari Raya Haji in Shah Alam as it was just a one day public holiday. I went for my Aidil Adha at our nearby mosque before we went to my sister's house for some festive food. Btw we bought Lemang yesterday night at Seksyen 7 Shah Alam. My sister prepared nasi daging as the main dish with the usual ayam rendang for lemang. Arief was happy that he get to play with his cousins @ Ilyas + Irfan. My uncle from Taiping came at around noon and we stayed there until 2pm before we drove back home as we need to do some heavy cleaning at home @ renovation is 95% complete. It was indeed a tiring affair as we were exhausted from the massive cleaning. We just bought Dominos for our dinner :-)

Langkawi 2010 Part 4...

We will be flying back to KL this evening and we had our last breakfast buffet at the hotel; still the same spread as the day before. We went to Makan Mahsuri and we really enjoy the historical tour. We drove back to our hotel to pack and we check-out by noon. As our flight is schedule to depart at 8.30pm; we decided to just drove around Langkawi; we stopped by Pantai Pasir Hitam (not that black though) and we also went to Jom Ikan Bakar. This time we ate siakap bakar and it was indeed delicious. We went again to the cable car as Arief wanted to feed the fishes there. This time we saw one huge fish swimming (black & orange colour) in the lake and the fish slapped his huge tail at the jetty as we were finishing our feeding session. It was indeed scary. We stopped by at "The Loft" for our evening tea and we hang-out there until 5pm. On the way to the airport we had Laksa at the many stalls beside the strip and we arrived at the airport by 7pm. We dropped off our rental car and we immediately check-in. The flight was again delay and we arrived at LCCT by 10pm; and we got our luggage by 10.30pm. We had our supper at Abg Ngah house (kuehteow goreng) and we arrive back home by 12.30pm. Tiring indeed but it was such an enjoyable family holiday to Langkawi :-)

Langkawi 2010 Part 3...

We started our day with the usual breakfast buffet at our hotel (quite limited offerings but just enough to satisfy our morning cravings) and we proceed to Idaman Suri @ shopping. We arrived there as they were about to open @ 9.30am. We then drove to Hj Ismail outlets where we bought chocolates. From Hj Ismail we went to Jom Ikan Bakar for our brunch; this time it was crowded but we still manage to have our favourite Ikan Keli bakar. After lunch we drove back to Kuah as Arief wanted to buy his Toys @ Hot Wheels sets. It was full with shopping trip today as we visited the only shopping mall in Langkawi; didn't bought anything though apart from Arief playing with the battery operated motorcycle. We went back to our hotel room; exhausted from the shopping trip. We didn't manage to swim in the swimming pool today as it was raining. We went out for our dinner at Wonderland @ opposite our hotel where we ordered Siakap Sweet & Sour, Crab, Squids & Kailan. It was indeed delicious; thank you to Hazry for the recommendation :-)

Langkawi 2010 Part 2...

We went for the hotel breakfast buffet and we sat the the balcony facing the ocean and swimming pool. We started our day by driving to Langkawi Eco-Park nearby the jetty where we walk to the huge "Helang" statue. We didn't walk in the Eco-Park though as it seems so abandoned. From here we drove to Kompleks Kraf Langkawi where Arief pooped. We decided to visit Jom Ikan Bakar for our early lunch; it was still empty but the grille fish is running out fast. We manage to get two ikan keli and it was indeed delicious. Then we went to the cable car; didn't rode it this time as we had experience it last year. We ended up spending most of our time here feeding the fishes in the pond; RM3 worth of fish food. We then went to Langkawi Under WaterWorld and Arief wanted to feed the fishes there as well. Nothing new but this time Arief is more curious looking at all the sea animals. We drove back to our hotel for some needed R&R before we went down to the swimming pool. It was such a beautiful sight (evening sunset) and Arief really enjoy playing in the kid swimming pool. We drove out to Pantai Cenang as we wanted to visit the night market infront of the Langkawi Under WaterWorld but to our dismay there is only 2 sellers plying their trade; such a big letdown. Arief was already sleeping and we decided to have our dinner there; one of the many restaurants (didn't remember the name but the food was such a let-down). We did walk briefly around pantai cenang before we drove back to our Hotel :-)

Langkawi 2010 Part 1...

We will be going to Langkawi again; been coming here since Arief was 3 months old and one of our favourite vacation destination. We took the late evening flight from LCCT; park our car at Abg Ngah house at ENSTEK and Hazry send us to LCCT (it was his day-off). Our flight was slightly delay; supposed to departure at 6.30pm but was rescheduled to 6.50pm. Arief was already anxious to board the airplane. We took our usual seating @ 28 and began exploring their menu without realizing that they don't serve heavy food for flight less than 45 minutes. We ended up buying Ribena for Arief; btw Arief fall asleep upon arriving in Langkawi. We waited for about 20 minutes for our bags and took our rental car; Mazda 3 (I book Nissan but it was fully booked). We went to re-fuel at the nearby Petronas Station before driving to Kuah @ Bella Vista Hotel. For our dinner I bought nasi lemak saloma + kari itik @ nearby the jetty. The check-in at our hotel was smooth and we were ushered to our room @ 319. A bit peculiar in the design though :-)

Raju's, Gardens, Bellamy, Harvey Norman & Cyberjaya...

It was raining early in the morning (there goes my tennis session) and we decided to have our breakfast at Raju's. We manage to find our parking beside the restaurants and we manage to find our table as well (rain was just about to stop). The timing couldn't be perfect as within 10 minutes it was crowded with their breakfast crowd. I ordered tosai telur bawang while Eliza & Arief ate roti canai. From Raju's we went to Gardens as I have an event at noon @ TM-Sony Prize Giving Ceremony. We bought Arief his Ultraman figurines; Ultraman Justice & Dyna at Robinsons and Jusco (even bought birthday present for Ilyas as well as Power Ranger Tiger Claw for Arief). We did manage to walk through Bandung showcase (bought Teh Sosro) nearby before the event started. Eliza and Arief went to Jusco to play games while I stayed at the event until 2pm (lunch at Alexis). By the time I reached Eliza & Arief at Jusco; Arief has already spend RM50 on tokens to play the games there. It was actually enjoyable as we manage to play our favourite arcade game; the one that we play in Genting recently :-)

From Gardens we went to Bellamy for our late lunch; ikan pari bakar. Well it was already 4pm and the choices is minimal but enough to satisfy our hunger. From Bellamy we drove to Harvey Norman Sale at Shah Alam. Initial plan was to buy another TV for IPTV purposes but we ended up buying LED TV & a home theater system for our entertainment room. Both can be fit easily into out TW. We rushed back home as we had to attend a wedding reception @ Eliza's Convent friend (Lavinna) in Cyberjaya and we arrive at the venue by 8pm. Our timing was just perfect as both bride and groom was about to enter the wedding hall. Arief was keeping himself busy by playing with his Power Rangers Tiger Claw and iPad during the reception. The opening dance was interesting as one of the dancers kick an empty water vase beside our table; not on purpose of course. The highlight is the belly dance show; first for us seeing it live. The reception was very beautiful and the food was delicious too @ chinese course meal. Pity we had to leave early as Arief was very sleepy. It was indeed a tiring day for all of us but it was worth it as we met with old friends; plus we have a new LED TV :-)

WCM 15th SD @ Nur Kasih Part 3...

I went for dinner with my fellow WCM as Eliza & Arief opted to stay at home @ Sri Kota as Arief was already sleepy. I manage to play with Arief until he fall asleep and then I drove to Kamunting Southern Station Food. It took me awhile stop to find Pak Ngah Joe; it seems that we had our dinner at three different restaurants due to misscommunication with Southern Station Food. Lucky for me Pak Ngah Joe had ordered our meal and it arrived just in time. Well it is quite delicious and cheap though. After dinner I took my BBG friends (3 TW) to the food court behind Bomba Taiping; brief supper of Yong Tau Foo and ice cream :-)

WCM had a drive through the Taiping Lake Garden before taking their group photo's opposite SERATAS parking lot. We opted to skip as we wanted to book our table for lunch at Kuehteow Dolly; this time with 5 TW and we parked nearby the accessories shop. All of us enjoy having kuehteow dolly; while Arief was busy playing with the other children; showing off his new toy pistol bought earlier at The Store. We conclude our lunch by having cendol Ansari's. It was indeed a great outing and we lead them back to Changkat Jering Toll for their journey home :-)

WCM 15th SD @ Nur Kasih Part 2...

We re-start our convoy from Tapah at 10.30am; this time with Police Escort (3 different escort; Tapah R&R, Gua Tempurung and Changkat Jering). It was more smoother as Police handle the highway traffic and IPOH Wishers join us after Sg Perak R&R. We reached Kamunting Toll by 11.45am for a brief R&R before driving to Nur Kasih @ Ulu Sepetang. Some of the convoy got lost along the way to Nur Kasih; heavy traffic and a lot of road hazards but all of us manage to find our way to Nur Kasih. We parked around the orphanage; assisted by the police. The orphanage had prepared a welcoming (Silat + Kompang + Bunga Manggar) for us; it was very touching to see their preparation to welcome us. We manage to collect cash donations of about RM12K as well as a lot of non-cash contribution @ cupboard, football, stationery set, rice, clothings. The lunch was excellent; local kampung delicacies @ ikan keli goreng + gulai kari nangka + assam pedas + kerabu taugeh + air assam + ulam. We even manage to buy ABC to quench our thirst as it was extremely hot. We left the orphanage by 2.30pm to go to Taiping Resort. We opted to stay at home instead but the hotel is indeed beautiful; especially the huge swimming pool :-)
