On Tuesday night, Arief was not feeling very well. Eliza went to her UiTM night classes as usual and Arief was asleep after two bottles of milk when she came back at around 9.30pm. By then we noticed that Arief temperature is rising. We thought it was just a bout of fever; maybe due to the travelling that we did last weekend to Alor Setar. We duly give Arief his panadol and he went back to sleep. At around midnight, Arief started to vomit and diarrhoea. The next morning we went to Medi-Utama in Seksyen 13 to check-up on Arief. As we arrived at the clinic, Arief vomited inside the car. The Doctor immediately checked on Arief and advise us to take him to the hospital to be warded. We went home, packed Arief things and went to Selangor Medical Centre (SMC); Arief birthplace. We consult with Dr Ling and the symptoms is quite clear; virus infection. Arief is warded in room 525. They had to give him drips to avoid dehydration; and it was clearly an unpleasant experience for Arief as he was crying during the process of applying the drips. My sister, Fadzli and relatives came to visit that evening; Arief was asleep most of the time as he is tired from the vomiting and diarrhoea. His temperature reached 39.5 but it subdued during the night. Eliza slept with Arief in the hospital; we got the single unit so it was very pleasant. And the food served is quite delicious. The next day, Arief was in his jovial mood but his movement is restrict due to the drips. He still experiencing diarrhoea but his vomiting has stopped. By Friday, the drips is taken off and Arief was happily walking all over the room. The Doctor continues checking his stool to determine the infection and it is confirm that it is bacteria infection; not virus (we assume it was rotavirus). They kept Arief warded for one more night to monitor his appetite and diarrhoea. By Saturday afternoon, the Doctor confirmed that Arief can be discharged. The process started from noon and we finally discharge at around 6pm (SMC forgot to give us Arief his pro-biotic, resulting in his diarrhoea that Sunday and we went to SMC on Monday to pick-up his pro-biotic). Alhamdulillah Arief is recovering from the bacteria infection :-)
