We make an extensive plan for our outing this evening; going to Cheras to attend Eliza's friend "kenduri doa selamat", then to Ja'a house in Bangi and watching Arsenal opening game against West Brom at the old Kuala Lumpur rail station. We went out from home at around 2.30pm and hoping to arrive in Cheras by 4pm. I took the federal highway as it was not peak hour. Arief was already sleeping inside the car. Upon entering Cheras, we are caught in a massive jam. I was out of idea on where should I turn and we ended up making a u-turn back to KL. At the end, we decided to call Eliza's friend that we couldn't attend as we are totally lost and it was already 4.30pm. The ordeal make us hungry and we went to Bangsar Village. We found a nice parking spot beside the escalator and we tried "Marco's Pizza, Pasta & Vino". Arief didn't want to enter initially but when he saw the mini playground inside; he ran in. We ordered soup, spaghetti marinara and regular calabbrese pizza. Arief was enjoying the mini slide; afraid at first but when he saw another girl tried it and he immediately slide through. The food was delicious and I manage to finish eating the pizza; the crust was just nice. We did walked around BV; stopped by ToysRus and Arief was pushing a toy stroller with Barney as the baby (so cute). BTW we found a shop selling tennis racket for infants :-)
We stopped at the nearby mosque to pray before going to Kuala Lumpur Train Station. The viewing party is at terminal 1 and it was nearby to the tracks; we do see Commuters and train pass-by during the LIVE game. It was great to meet up with some old friends. This is not a place that you can bring small kids. We ordered drinks and watched the game via an LCD projector over a big white screen. Arsenal scored first via Nasri in the 4th minute; and it was nil nil approaching half time (Arsenal did have few more chances but was squandered by bad finishing). I ordered fried mee during the second half; and we saw Nasri recite "doa" before starting the second half (he is a French Muslim). West Brom created a few chances during the 2nd half and nearly scored; luckily Almunia & Djorou was alert to the danger. At the end Arsenal won 1-0 :-)
