Brunch at Darabif Burger IOI Mall...

We went for our brunch at Darabif Burger at IOI Mall Puchong; via Groupon. I bought the family meal for just RM27 instead of RM43; we got 2 burgers (chicken & beef), 2 mini burgers (chicken & beef), 4 fries, 4 soft drinks, 6 pieces of nugget, corn nachos with dip and 4 vanilla ice-cream. It was indeed a huge servings for the three of us; and we had to bring back home 2 burgers as were so full after eating fries. The burgers is quite delicious with huge beef patties. We then walked around IOI Mall; noticed Toys'R'Us and we went in to survey Arief's birthday present (his birthday is on 31st May). We ended up buying his birthday gift; an air hockey table. We told him that he can only play on his birthday but knowing Arief he immediately open the box upon arriving home :-)

Lunch at Hainan Tea...

It is a public holiday and we went for our lunch at Hainan Tea in Puchong; again via Groupon. I use my trusted GPS and we arrived within 15 minutes; we even manage to find a parking nearby. We proceed straight to our reserved table inside. The atmosphere is quite pleasant even with a full house. We ordered their signature chicken rice; roasted, steam and BBQ. We also received 2 cheong fun. All were delicious; we do prefer roasted chicken as compared to the steam and BBQ. Arief even ordered his Volcano Drink @ Iced Milo :-)

Beef Ribs at Tony Roma's...

We went to Tony Roma's 1Mont Kiara for our lunch; Beef Ribs. It took me awhile to locate the entrance to 1Mont Kiara as I use LDP; ended up paying two tolls as I mistakenly enter the highway again. We were there by 11am; ample time for us to explore 1Mont Kiara. Arief wanted to play at the huge chess + jenga + snake & ladder + connect; but we manage to convince him to have his lunch first before playing (as RM50 entitles you to 4 coupons to play the game). We immediately order our beef ribs as well as cheeseburger for Arief. Eventhough the portion seems small but it was indeed delicious. We were so full from our lunch. And Arief gets to play at the giant games :-)

Dinner Buffet @ Carnaval Churrascaria...

We finally went for our dinner buffet ar Carnaval Churrascaria. I opted to work from home today as our Auto-Gate is broken and in need of immediate repair which was completed in the evening. I went with Arief to Kelana Jaya LRT Station to pick-up Eliza but as it was already jam packed we decided to have our dinner at Carnaval Churrascaria. Their meal buffet is priced at RM61 per adults (Arief ate for free). It was indeed delicious with their free flow of meat on skewers. We particularly enjoy their lamb, chicken ham, pineapple, beef, chicken in curry spices, sausages and garlic bread. It was worth every RM spent :-)

La-Gomera Spanish Buffet...

We went to La-Gomera for our lunch; spanish buffet. I bought the GroupOn coupons weeks back and we manage to book our reservation. We arrived by 12.30pm and it was quite crowded. We were ushered to our table and we began selecting our meals. Arief ate the vegetable fried rice with grilled salmon. Both of us opted for grilled lamb, beef & chicken with pizza. The salad bar is quite impressive but the lamb stew was a bit smelly. They do serve a lot of seafood of which I avoided. The beverages is free-flow and the dessert is just nice :-)

McD, Detailing, Munawarrah & Me'Nate...

We went for our morning breakfast at McD Seksyen 3 Shah Alam and Arief got his Wolverine toys; now left to buy Hulk and Spiderman. From McD we went to MPV as I plan to do detailing on our Wish; in preparation for the upcoming 16th SD next weekend. We waited at MPV Customer Lobby and enjoy the free massage chair. We then went for our lunch at Restoran Munawarrah @ Chinese-Muslim cuisine at Seksyen 9 Shah Alam where we ordered Ying Yong and Wantan Mee. Our food adventure continues to Me'Nate in the evening located in Ampang. We went with my WCM BBG and we ordered Wagyu Beef and Lamb. Price is a bit expensive though (RM119) but indeed it is delicious. We hurried back to Shah Alam as my uncle is at my sis-in-law house with his son @ Ewan who just came back from Sydney (Semester Break). We were actually full but couldn't resist the hot fish curry as well as sambal belacan + ulam. Not to forget the Australian Cherries :-)

Tennis, WCM & Football...

I went for my tennis session at Bangsar as well as having my morning breakfast @ wantan mee at Restoran Berjaya Bangsar. The weather was excellent and I played until noon; completed two double matches with Azmi and both went into tie-break. I bought our lunch at a Kelantanese Restaurant at Pantai Dalam (don't remember the name); ikan keli + cencaru bakar with daging kawah + sayur ulam + bubur pulut hitam for dessert. Both ikan bakar + air assam was excellent but bubur pulut hitam was a big letdown. By 2.30pm I went to Persada PLUS; WCM meet-up for the upcoming 16th SD @ Treasure Hunt and I was in-charge of the event t-shirt. It was quite tiring as we need to sort the t-shirt first (only received at noon today) but with the help of other WCM members it was an easy process. And I manage to play football for 45 minutes. It was indeed tiring as I have not played football in years but I still do prefer football than futsal :-)

Kenduri & Mee Udang...

We went to Tesco Taiping early in the morning to buy some groceries before driving back to Pokok Assam for Aiman's Kenduri Doa Selamat; btw Aiman will be furthering his studies at SUNY Buffalo United States on 18th August. The doa selamat started at around 11am and lunch was served at noon; simple buffet of kurma kambing, ayam masak merah, dhal and acar. Arief was keeping himself busy by playing with Ilyas and Irfan all over the house compound; playing with their new plastic toy gun. I went with Aiman for some char kueh teow; we went to Doli first but there was no parking and we then drove to Kuala Sepetang for their famous mee udang. Mak Jah was too packed and we went to Mak Teh instead; even packed a few for my sister :-)

Restoran Kayu Seksyen 7 Shah Alam...

My in-laws was supposed to drive back to Teluk Intan today but as Haziq is not feeling well; they decided to stay for another day. Alhamdulillah Haziq recovered from his mild fever and all of us went for dinner at Restoran Kayu Seksyen 7. I really their nasi kandar with ayam madu as well as their mee goreng. Arief as usual will eat roti canai; this time with dhal and curry :-)

Little Caliphs, Putrajaya, Naza Motor, Nasim Peugeot and Chicken Chop...

It was raining earlier in the morning so I couldn't play tennis at Bangsar; I still went to Bangsar for breakfast though. To my surprise we still have players waiting for the rain to stop and I ended up staying there until 10am. We went to Little Caliphs at noon for the parents session. Arief decided to just sit outside with me playing with his PSP while Eliza went in and discuss with his teacher. The verdict; Arief is excellent in Maths and Hafazan but need to improve his reading skills and hygiene (tend to wipe with his clothes). His drawings is good too. We are really proud of Arief achievement in Little Caliphs :-)

We drove to Putrajaya Precint 11 for Fadzly & Azura lunch meet-up; we got lost along the way as I can't detect his house via my iPhone Google Maps. BTW Arief was sleeping during the short drive. I finally call Fadzly and request for the direction. We were not far off but as it was a new development the location is not updated in Google Maps. Arief was a bit cranky at first because he just woke up but after awhile he is back to his usual self; playing with his PSP while having lunch. My sister arrived half an hour later with Nasi Bukhara; more food to enjoy. It was a joyous gatherings and we even had a small celebration for Abg Long & Kak Yong on their 28th Wedding Anniversary :-)

We plan to check out Toyota Wish at Naza World but we make a pit-stop at Cyberjaya Community Club as Arief pooped. Arief was excited to check-out the new car and he was running all over the showroom. We managed to discuss with their sales representative on the many Wish available and really interested to buy the 2006 / 2007 model. On our way back we stopped at Nasim Peugeot and review the 308 Turbo. This car is extremely attractive as well and we are now undecided on our purchase :-)

We went to my sister house in Subang Permai for our dinner; home-made chicken chop @ western dinner. Arief was sleeping as he didn't sleep the whole day; pity as Ilyas and Irfan wanted to play with him during dinner. It was a very full  and delicious dinner with spaghetti, potatoes, garlic bread and chicken chop :-)

Breakfast at Raju's...

We went for brunch at Raju's with my in-laws and Anis at around 10am. The place was already crowded but to our luck we manage to find a parking nearby. We ordered tosay, roti canai & roti canai telur with fried chicken and chicken masalla. Delicious as usual. Arief as always will help himself to the curry :-)

Baskin Robbins Shah Alam Mall...

We went for our dose of ice-cream at Baskin Robbins Shah Alam Mall. We ordered Banana Royale with Cookies N Cream and Love Portion # 31, as well as Hot Fudge and Chocolate sprinkles. Cookies N Cream was delicious but we don't actually like Love Portion # 31; hot fudge was too much of the dark chocolate taste (Arief didn't like it at all) but the banana was sweet :-)

Avatar 3D, Oldtown & Subways...

We went for Avatar 3D at Sunway Piramid; it is very impressive even though it was my second time watching due to the 3D effects on certain scenes which really stands out. We drove back to Shah Alam to have our lunch at OldTown Kopitiam; wanted to try their new noodles as per their Tv Ads. It was very disappointing and we went to voice our displeasure to the cashier; their reply was that it was due to the noodles from their supplier. Then don't serve the dry egg noodles and they didn't even offer me discounts or rebates. We plan to boycott OldTown and has spread the news via my facebook. BTW I ended up going to Subways to buy my Tuna Sandwich.

Taiping Cendol...

We will always have our cendol whenever we are back in Taiping; even Arief is enjoying having cendol to quench the thirst. I do prefer mine with pulut; quite peculiar but very delicious :-)

Breakfast at Raju's...

It was the X'mas holiday and we decided to have our breakfast at Raju's PJ. We drove out by 9am and reached there by 9.30am. We managed to find a nice parking spot infront of the restaurant (legal parking as the policeman is doing his rounds at the moment). We took our seats outside and ordered the usual roti canai with Teh Tarik. It was as usual delicious :-)

Mack House Warming...

We went to Mack house warming party at his new house @ Jalan Bukit Setiawangsa with my in-laws and Anis. We arrive there by 3.30pm and it was still crowded. Mack served rice with assam pedas, masak lemak nangka, ayam goreng, ikan masin and ulam kampung. They also prepared sup soto. I waited outside with Arief & Anis while the others went for a tour of the new house. Arief & Anis was playing all over the tent with the road cones. Fazlan and his family came at around 4.30pm and we managed to tentatively confirm on our Bagan Lalang trip on 2nd January 2010 :-)

Nasi Arab Seksyen 7 & Wii...

We went for lunch at the famous nasi arab at Seksyen 7, together with Halim & Radhi. Halim came with his family in his trusted 206 while Radhi rode in with his new CBR. We had a blast with chicken & lamb meal and tried Arabic malt @ Babrica. After lunch we went back home for some HSBB and Nintendo Wii madness. Halim's wife was so impressed with Wii that they went to buy a set that night :-)

Lunch at Raju's PJ...

It was my mother-in-law's birthday and we decided to have lunch at Raju's. It was supposed to be a big family gathering but everyone was not available, so we just went with my in-laws. We arrived there by 3pm and it started to drizzle. We managed to get a table inside the shop and proceed to order the usual ayam, sotong & ikan goreng. I also took "rasam"; Indian soup serve is a drinking glass. BTW we spend about an hour there enjoying our lunch; it was delicious :-)

 

Mee Udang Kuala Sepetang...

We are driving to Penang today to celebrate Eliza's birthday. We started our journey at around 9.30am from my sister house as my mom is coming back to Taiping with us. Arief was busy showing my mom all his new toys; he is sleepy but fighting to stay awake. Upon arriving in Changkat Jering, we drove to Kuala Sepetang for lunch at the famous Mee Udang @ Mak Jah. We ordered mee udang special, kuehteow udang special and nasi goreng udang biasa. I think we had close to 20++ prawns in all of our meals; big and sweet. Even Arief likes eating the sweet prawns. The restaurant has a new menu as well as new plates. The food; we really like the kuehteow and nasi goreng but not the mee as is tasted like prawns :-)

Mee Udang Mak Jah & Ice-Age 3 at Taiping Central...

We finally had the famous mee udang at Kuala Sepetang after numerous failed attempt. We went there at around 9.45am; some of the stalls open at 10am. My sister suggested that we try Mak Jah stall; the famous one is Mak Teh. Along the way we noticed a lot of signboards showing to Mak Jah stall and we went there as suggested. We were their first customer and ordered mee udang special and kuehteow goreng udang biasa. The special consist of about 8 big prawns while the "biasa" is filled with small prawns. The prawns is very sweet due to their freshness. We really like the kuehteow goreng udang and would visit this outlet everytime we are in Taiping. My cousin, Fazlin wanted to take his nephews and nieces to the Ice-Age 3 movie at Taiping Central and we ask her to buy our tickets as well. It was the first time that we went to the cinema in Taiping and it was actually quite impressive with comfortable seating similar to the GSC's and TGV's :-)

 

Bagan Lalang Seafood (again)...

We went to Bagan Lalang for seafood again; this time with Halim (with his in-laws) & Radhi (my office colleagues). We started our journey from home after Asar and we arrived at Bagan Lalang by 6.25pm. It was already crowded and lucky for us we manage to find parkings for all 4 cars. We immediately went to our reserved table beside the overhead projectors and began ordering our meals;

1. Ikan pari bakar
2. Otak-Otak
3. Pepahat masak bercili
4. Sup Ketam
5. Sotong goreng tepung
6. Lala masak halia
7. Ikan Jenahak masam manis

It took a bit longer than usual for our dinner to be ready and the kids was running all over the restaurant. BTW we finish almost everything within half an hour and it was indeed delicious. The best part is enjoying the dinner with friends. We went our separate way after dinner; some decided to visit their night market. We drove home; arriving at around 10pm with a full stomach :-)

Line Clear, Cucur Udang Juru R&R & Parit Buntar...

We went to Penang for lunch at Line Clear with my mom. We started our journey at around 11am; it was smooth driving and Arief fall asleep. It took me awhile to locate "Line Clear" as I do remember that it is closed to the jetty. I took the wrong decision to enter the town first; we did get caught in the city jam. Alhamdullilah we manage to locate "Line Clear" and also manage to find a good parking spot opposite "Line Clear". Arief immediately woke-up when I parked the car. Eliza went inside to book our table with my mom and Arief while I queue for our food. The queue was until the roadside but it was worth the wait; we ordered two nasi kandar and one briani with chicken, fish and pedal; massive "kuah banjir". Even Arief enjoy eating the fish curry; he manage to finish his servings on his own. It started to rain while we were enjoying our nasi kandar and again lucky for us it was just for awhile. The total bill is RM25. We took a short drive around Penang town and was planning to take the ferry to the mainland but the queue was too long. We ended up using the bridge where Arief continuously using his camera to take the picture of the Penang bridge. We stop at Juru R&R to buy Cucur Udang. We even had time to visit Parit Buntar; we used to stay here when I was small (until Standard 2). It took me awhile to recognize our old home as it had undergone major renovation. I also drove by my old school (Jalan Asuhan & middle of the town). It does bring back a lot of memories :-)

Famous Thai Shah Alam Mall...

It has been years since I last visited "Famous Thai" at Shah Alam Mall; it was with my sister at their previous location (inside the Mall beside Guardian). The new location is at the old East India Outlet. BTW we bought Ben 10 DVD for Arief; the full 4 season and bonus 2 movies collection. We ordered Mango Salad, Mixed Vegetable soup for Arief, Fried Kangkong Belacan, Sizzling Beef, Tom Yam Chicken and Ice Longan & Ice Lemon tea for drinks. We ordered all in small servings but they are indeed huge. Their service is fast and the food is delicious; evidently by Arief sipping the mixed vegetable soup :-)

Chakri Palace KLCC...

We took the LRT to Chakri Palace KLCC for lunch; to celebrate our excellent performance rating from the management. We went to Amanah Raya first to settle our errands; it did took us awhile to locate the building. We ordered Mieng Kam for appertizers, Tom Yam with Sem Talay & Poo Nim Platter for our main dish and Longan Jelly & Water Melon juice to quench our thirst. It was as always delicious :-)

Marco's Pizza Bangsar Village...

We went to Marco's Pizza for our lunch at Bangsar Village. It is easier for me to go for Friday prayers as the mosque is just nearby. We ordered  Beef Lasagne with Loretto (lamb) Pizza. For drinks we ordered Peach Ice Blended and Oreos Milk Shake. The service is fast and we received our Lasagne within 10 minutes; and it is delicious. The Loretta is nice too apart from the lamb smell. Eliza surf via the many free wifi available when I went for Friday prayers. We didn't finish the pizza though; it will be for our dinner tonite :-)

Steamboat at Seri Malaysia Taiping...

We went for steamboat dinner at Hotel Seri Malaysia Taiping, I had reservation due to my bad experience there twice (slow service and disappointing serving). We ordered two sets of Steamboat while I ordered bihun hailam (just in case) and I was right. The service is slow and it took them half an hour to finally served our steamboat which is not rocket science. My hailam arrives early though; earlier than my teh dangdut :-)

Burger King, Wedding & Open House in Bangi...

We will be joining "rombongan pernikahan" Azral to Bangi at around 10am; we decided to have our breakfast at the newly opened Burger King at Seksyen 13 Shah Alam. We were the second customer there and we found out that today is the official opening of the outlet and they were waiting for the VVIP to officiate the launch. We arrived at Pak Pian house in TTDI just in time; and we started our convoy from TTDI to Bangi. We stop-by at the Petronas Station in Bangi as Azral wanted to visit the bathroom; I guess he wanted to calm down before the ceremony. We arrived at the bride's house by 11am and everyone was waiting for us. We re-group at their neighbour house before proceeding to the "pernikahan". We sat outside with my cousins while listening to the ceremony; Arief was busy playing toy car with his cousin while eating "kerepek" and drinking "sirap selasih" with "teh tarik". BTW Azral took three "lafaz" and they served "kambing golek"; one of our favourite dish and I was the fifth person to queqe for the "kambing golek". Nasi Briani was also delicious with chicken and beef; we take turns eating and we thorougly enjoy the meal. Arief was enjoying playing with his toy car at the neighbour's porch. After the wedding we went to Roslan house at Taman Bangi Ria (old Bangi). I called Rahimi requesting for the direction and Alhamdulilah we found the house; got lost for awhile as the signboard to Taman Bangi Ria was hidden beside some trees. We were still full from the wedding but I still managed to eat lontong with satay while Eliza ate desserts. BTW Arief was playing at the miniature fountain with the other childrens; washing his hand in the process :-)

Oldtown Kopitiam at Shah Alam Mall...

The new outlet is now open in Shah Alam Mall; nearby to our house. I was on MC today (tonsillitis) and Eliza is fasting; so we decided to break fast at Kopitiam. They have two entrances; facing Concorde Hotel and another one within Shah Alam Mall. The entrance facing Concorde Hotel is quite steep and I strongly suggest to use the internal entrance. We ordered and Arief tried to tick it on their order paper; roti bakar, Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun, white coffee, iced chocolate and hazelnut white coffee. Arief really likes to eat mee with soup :-)

 

Qaseh Seksyen 13...

We went out early on Sunday morning to fill-up NGV as my sister is having her "open house" at noon. After done filling NGV, we went to Qaseh at Seksyen 13 for our breakfast (located nearby to Les' Copaque). Eliza and Arief at Bihun Singapore while I ate mee & kuehteow goreng. Both of us ordered teh tarik. The restaurant atmosphere is awesome and the food is delicious. Arief likes to play with the mini fountain beside the wash basin :-)

Uncle Lim's Kopitiam Subang Parade...

Eliza is fasting today and we went to Uncle Lim's Kopitiam Subang Parade for break fast. We ordered wholemeal roti bakar, normal roti bakar, mushroom mee, porridge, soya cincau, hot tea and iced milo. Arief ate both the porridge and mushroom mee; he immediately say "soup" when he saw my porridge. After break fast we went to BATA Shoe Warehouse nearby, we wanted to survey our office shoes but Arief pooped. We drove straight home :-)

Ramadhan 2008 Day 15...

We didn't to have rice again and we decided to break fast at "Pak Li" Seksyen 7. We went back home first to change Arief diaper and left my notebook at home. We drove our Honda City to "Pak Li"; it looks like a full house but we managed to get a table inside; then one couple just simply went to seat at our table eventhough Eliza was waiting there while I took Arief child seat. Arief was busy playing with his toy car @ Mitsubishi Evo 9. We ordered "Mee Sup" and "Assam Laksa"; the "Assam Laksa" came with a set of muffin, ice-cream and bandung cincau. Eliza ordered teh ais with hot chocolate. It was quite hectic when it was about time to break fast as the workers was rushing to deliver foods; we got ours few minutes after "Azan Maghrib" and I really impress with their service (fast). "Assam Laksa" was delicious and very spicy while "Mee Sup" was just nice. Arief as usual ate "Mee Sup" with Eliza as I enjoyed my "Assam Laksa" until the last drop. Total bill was RM18.70. I strongly recommend this restaurant for break fast but advise to reserved your table :-)

Steamboat at Tupai-Tupai...

We went to Tupai-Tupai with Eliza's parents and sister for their steamboat promotion; RM28 nett for adults and RM15 nett for kids. BTW drinks is charge separately. I've made the reservation earlier and requested table at the back. We went out from Shah Alam after maghrib and arrived there by 8.45pm. We immediately went to our table and the waiter asked whether we would like to try "Tomyam Kelapa"; obviously I will try and it tasted just like tomyam but with crunchy kerisik. We decide to order the normal soup & tomyam for steamboat and went to the buffet table to choose the ingredients. The best offerings is the big prawns. Tomyam is a bit spicy and Arief enjoy sipping the soup. The spaghetti and nasi goreng is excellent too. For dessert, we had ice-cream (they do served tapai & red bean pau). The total cost is RM200 for 5 adults and 3 kids; paid by Eliza's sister :-)

   

Outback Steakhouse Bangsar...

We went for our anniversary lunch at Outback Steakhouse Bangsar. I've been here with Shahril previously and I really like their Typhoon Bloom @ Fried Onions. The crowd here is very minimal. We ordered Typhoon Bloom (of course) for appetizers and we really enjoy eating it round by round. We shared the main course; beef skewered. It was nicely cook and the mashed potato was excellent. We were still full from the heavy breakfast in the morning. We were tempted to order desserts but we were obviously full as Typhoon Bloom servings is absolutely huge. We quench our thirst with bottom-less Ice Lemon Tea and espresso. We would strongly recommend this place for lunch as it is very private plus the australian decoration and ambience is quite romantic with dim lights :-)

Seafood at Bagan Lalang...

I did my research over the net and found out that Bagan Lalang have one of the best seafood around; namely this one particular restaurant called "HM Seri Bagan". I managed to locate the contact number and made the necessary reservations. We went there with my mom and Aiman. We started our journey from my sister house at 2.30pm and arrived at Abg Ngah house in Enstek by 3.30pm. My mom wanted to view their new house. We were treated to kuehteow bandung; we dare not eat much as I'm saving my appetite for seafood. By 5.15pm we drove to Bagan Lalang and it was about half an hour from Enstek; the driving was smooth but upon reaching Bagan Lalang the road is getting narrower. It seems that Sunway is building a new development there; Sunway Gold Coast, I really hope this development won't jeopardize the tranquility of Bagan Lalang.

The restaurant is located at the end of the road, it looks rather old with uncomplete roof of their water platform. We duly seated in our reserved table and proceed to order seafood. I went with my mom & Aiman to look at all the varieties of seafood on display and we chose Kembung Bakar, Pari Bakar, Ketam masak serai, Sotong goreng tepung, Lala goreng cili and siakap 3 rasa. The service was fast (food was served within 15 minutes); while waiting we munch on the potato chips (delicious and I even bought some to bring back home). The food was excellent; and the cost is only RM116.55 (including some that I bought for my sister). I really like the Ketam Masak Serai; so sweet. I can't wait to come here again to satisfy our seafood cravings :-)

Happy New Year 2008...

We were at home last nite counting down to 2008; via the FTA channels. I did noticed some fireworks from our windows. Alhamdulilah, 2007 have been excellent; I got a new job at TM Net (more financial security), enjoyable family vacation and outing, new nephew, engagement, weddings and Arief is getting smarter and cheekier. Few misses in 2007; Eliza misscarriage, Arief virus infection and my knee problem in Melaka. We are grateful that we are blessed with good health; and undenying support from our loving families, relatives and friends. We truly looking forward to 2008.

We decided to have breakfast at Intekma Resort Shah Alam (we surveyed yesterday and it was only RM9.90 for 1st January) to celebrate the new year. Fadzli join in as well and we arrived at around 8.30am. Suprisingly it was quiet; not to my earlier expectation. The buffet justified the price; roti canai with chicken curry, mee goreng, nasi lemak, mini sausages with baked beans, omellete, toast, cereals, congee and fruits. The roti canai has been prepared earlier so it was a bit hard; the chicken curry was delicious. All of us like the mee goreng. Arief as usual, ate cereals and then just enjoying exploring around. Luckilly we have Fadzli to watch over Arief :-)

 

The Loaf Pavilion KL...

We had planned to visit "The Loaf - Tun's favorite place" since we were made known of it's opening at Pavilion KL. We went out early as usual to escape the traffic crawl. I decided to use the SMART tunnel but should have use the Bukit Bintang exit rather than use Tun Razak. We noticed "The Loaf" while we were circling the Pavilion KL to find the parking entrance. The Pavilion is impressive with it's new urban design; you feel as if you are walking in an overseas mall plus it is quite cold inside. The Loaf is divided into two sections; pastry and cafe on two separate floors. They don't provide any child seats; as the ambiance and table is not "infant friendly". Back to the ambiance an table, it is indeed luxurious. We ordered the Continental Breakfast set with Omelette and Tea by the Pot. The servings presentation was excellent and the price is quite pricey; but it is delicious especially the homemade pineapple jams. Arief was in a mood that he will not stay put and we had to take turns to accompany him walking around the Pavilion. As it was still early and the parking here is extremely expensive, we went to IKANO, our second favourite shopping mall :-)

Curtains and Buffet Overdose...

We went to Subang Permai at around 11.00pm to order new curtains and upholstery for our L-Shape sofa in the living room. My sister is already there at the shop as Abg D is checking out the renovation works of their new house. We decided to go for earth colour (brown) and my sister helps to select the fabric and design. The cost is RM870 (cheap I guess) and schedule to be completed by 1st week of October. After that we went to check out my sis new renovated house; I went in alone as it is dusty. Beautifully constructed, can't wait for the unveiling. For lunch we went to Hotel UiTM for their High-Tea Buffet. Suprisingly the hotel car park is full and we just barely manage to find parking. We thought it was a "full house" but it was due to the seminars. The buffet spread is excellent and I overdose to the maximum. Below is the list of food that I've eaten:

• Spaghetti Bolognaise
• Nasi Kerabu with beef
• Bihun and Kuehteow Goreng
• Laksa
• Yong Tau Foo
• Rojak Singapore @ Gado Gado
• Sushi
• Cempedak Goreng
• Fruit Cocktail
• Triffle
• Fruits
• Tea

And the food is delicious; especially Laksa and Spaghetti. Arief as usual, played with the utensils and ate nasi himpit. Eliza ate moderately, but does not apply to Cempedak Goreng. Arief even pooped during lunch and even after Eliza had finished changing his diapers, I was still enjoying the buffet. It was a struggle to even drive the car home; luckilly it was nearby. I need two glasses of ENO to calm my stomach down :-)

50th Merdeka & Breakfast in Hotel UiTM...

We decided to have buffet breakfast at Hotel UiTM Shah Alam to celebrate 50th Merdeka. The night before, I was so sleepy that I slept with my office attire (blame it on Arsenal Champions League qualifier at 3pm the previous morning). I did noticed the fireworks but was too tired to wake up. BTW the buffet breakfast was excellent; at RM9.50 per head nett. They have cereal, nasi lemak, mee goreng, local kuih-muih, fruits, pau, toast, pancakes, porridge, omellete, rendang ayam and beef. I like the nasi lemak, spicy and sweet. Eliza adores the mee goreng. Arief; as usual; like playing with the utensils. He did ate the pancakes and toast; with a bit of nasi lemak and mee goreng. We highly recommend Hotel UiTM for breakfast but need to come early as limited seating :-)

Harry Potter & Uncle Lim's...

I had reserved Harry Potter latest book for Eliza on Tuesday with Arief at MPH SACC and that Friday morning it was all over the air that Tesco and Carrefour is offering massive discounts; only RM69.90 as compared to RM109.90 at MPH; and SMS been circulating that MPH, TIMES and HARPERS will not sell Harry Potter out of protest to the hypermarket. Selling or not selling, we are still going to MPH to pick-up the book. We went early, around 7.30am, expecting huge crowds but it was just three infront of us. Price is at RM109.90 but we got two big posters of the book. After that we went for our breakfast at "Pasar Seksyen 6" where I ate my usual RM1 Nasi Lemak and Eliza ate Char Kueh Teow. BTW Arief tasted his first Nasi Lemak and he seems to like it. We went to Subang Parade for lunch at around 3pm. It took us awhile to find a parking space as it was packed. We surveyed all the various eateries in Subang Parade and we finally decided to have our lunch at Uncle Lim's. We ordered Assam Laksa and Curry Laksa with Kopi Cham and Ice Barley. Both are delicious. Pity we didn't notice their new menu, mushroom mee. Arief was busy playing with his balloon and plastic spoon (courtesy from Baskin' Robbins) :-)

Laksa Paradise Shah Alam Mall...

We went to Shah Alam Mall for our lunch at around 3pm (quite late as we had leftovers satay for breakfast). Initially Eliza wanted to have Laksa at GIANT (delicious) but I wanted to eat something else. So we went to Laksa Paradise. It is managed by Noraini Enterprise; the same outlet in One Utama New Food Court of which we had an unpleasant experience. Eliza ordered Fish Ball Noodle and I ordered Curry Mee; their set meal which consist of drinks and bubur of the day @ pengat pisang. Eliza ate first and I took Arief around Shah Alam Mall as their child seat is dirty. Eliza called me when I was window shopping with Arief at Reject Shop (noticed an orange collar t-shirt for Arief). Her verdict, the fish ball noodle was delicious and the pengat pisang was just excellent. My curry mee, ok lah but the pengat pisang is indeed excellent. BTW we bought the orange collar t-shirt for Arief :-)

Roti Canai Bismillah...

I went to eat Roti Canai at Bismillah restaurant with Haza and Dodi. It was the first time for both of them and I shared with them the history of Bismillah restaurant and Taiping famous cendol. The cendol guy used to ply his trades outside the Bismillah Restaurant, using the cart with bicycle. A long wooden chairs is provided by the cart but most of the customers will eat standing up or inside the Bismillah Restaurant. Now they sell the cendol in a proper shops. The Roti Canai in Bismillah is famous. During festive season, the Q is tremendous and you will have to come really early to avoid the crawl. We ordered one each with Teh Tarik and Nescafe Tarik for Haza. The roti canai is less oily and the gravy, a mixture of dhall and "spicy serbuk" is simply awesome. It was delicious and we ordered another round :-)

Kanna Banana Leaf Rice...

We were supposed to go to a wedding in Bangi today but instead we went to Kanna PJ for lunch to meet up with Eliza's Convent friends as Puspan is in town (She resides in Sri Lanka). As I am clueless on  where it is, I surf the net for information and got it from monsterblogs. We arrived there at around 12.30pm and the place is already buzzing with customers. We managed to find a table at the air-cond section, ordered our banana leaf rice and waited for them to arrive. Actually the girls was already there and had booked a table with one baby chair for Arief.

The curry was thick and nice. We took chicken masalla, squids, mutton masalla, beancurd and fried chicken. Arief is busying tearing the banana leaf as he can easily grasp anything in his sight. I personally like the pineapple, cucumber and onion veggies. The fried chicken is delicious but the mutton and squid is just acceptable. The dessert is excellent, soya jelly with longan and Arief agrees with me. It was an enjoyable lunch outing for all of us; Eliza met her Convent friends, Arief played with the banana leaf and enjoyed the dessert. And me, truly enjoy the feast as I was suffering from a major stomach discomfort yesterday morning :-).

Nando's BSC...

As it was Valentine's Day, we decided to go on a lunch date at Nando's BSC. We took the Valentine Offer, RM50 for 2 persons, complete with an ice-cream dessert. The meal was one naan like bread, two bowls of soup (free refills), a quarter chicken each with 2 selection of side dishes and two glasses of Pepsi. We both took the mild perri-perri. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was delicious. The soup and bread is excellent :-)

Ramadhan Buffet @ KGSAAS...

Our first Ramadhan Buffet for 2006. We had initially plan to go to Saloma KL but considering it would effect Arief nap time due to the travelling time, we decided for Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (KGSAAS) in Seksyen 13 Shah Alam. The buffet is RM35++ for non-members, which is RM38.50 nett. We were there quite late, 6.45pm but it was still empty. The crowd is minimal and we enjoyed the buffet; no long Qs for our food. The buffet spread was just nice. Satay was delicious and I personally like the Ayam Percik. The nasi putih dishes is excellent but WYSIWYG; once it is finish, that's it. But don't worry, ample servings as I only eat nasi after my maghrib prayers and it is still a lot. But no lifts so problem for me with my Arief Stroller. And to mark the joyous occasion, we wore white shirts :-)

Bazaar Ramadhan @ Kelana Jaya...

As I will be fetching Arief at the babysitter place in Kelana Jaya, I might as well buy our dishes for berbuka there. The Bazaar is not as big as the famous Stadium Shah Alam but just nice to accomodate my appetite. My favourite there is Bubur Pulut Hitam, Ayam Percik RM2, Roti Bom and Ayam Golek. My dislikes is the Rojak Buah (old fruits) and Air Tebu (salted a bit). And I also like to drop-by Restoran Selera Utara for their Roti Jala (BTW this is our favourite breakfast venue) :-)

Ayam Golek Pantai Dalam...

It took me quite a while to locate this place. The jam and rain hinders my judgement as I overshoot my turn several times. Finally I just parked my car and negotiate the many stalls there by foot. Finally I found the place, nicely hidden between the stalls. RM14 for one chicken (used to be RM12). I bought one for our dinner at my sister house as my mom just arrived from Taiping. It was delicious and we finished the servings in just half an hour :-)

Mee Kari Udang Jalan Duta...

I have been tempted (from watching other people eating it) to try this Mee Kari Udang for quite awhile. As I was still full from my breakfast of Nasi Lemak this morning; I tried the Mee Kari Udang for lunch. My verdict, the gravy was not thick enough (Mee Rebus Baidali is thick and my favourite) and the prawn is not fully cooked :-(

Station Kopitiam...

We were again undecided on where to have our lunch on Sunday. The list of venues was everywhere from Damansara to Subang Jaya. Finally we went to Plaza Perangsang Shah Alam to check out the eateries there. As we were there by 11am, parking was still easy and crowds was minimal. As we were walking around, we saw this new place; Station Kopitiam with Teppanyaki. Why not? New place and interesting menu. I ordered Thai Sizzling Chicken with Rice and Eliza ordered kuehteow "something". The kuehteow gravy was excellent; can't stop myself from sipping it. The sizzling chicken was spicy and delicious as well. Next time I want to try the Hong Kong Beef Keuhteow :-)

Raju's...

Finally, I found the place after two days of searching for it. It is quite easy actually but we overshoot the first left turn and ended up reaching Syed Condo's. We had our lunch there at around 3pm. Nasi daun pisang with chicken, ikan kembung, squids and pedal. We ate underneath the trees and we saw the Arsenal Logo at the nearby school (Arsenal Soccer School in Malaysia). Service was fast. The potatoes with the daun pisang is delicious. I even asked for second helpings. The chicken, fish, squids and pedal was cooked to the perfection. We enjoyed our meal and I was so full. The bill, RM39.70 for two persons. Squids cost us RM18 but it was worth every ringgit :-)

Burger King Hartamas...

I can't even see the menu when I was about to made my order at the drive-through. Learn from McD Seksyen 3, the menu is well lit and BIG. I ordered the medium Whopper and it is HUGE. It took me awhile to finally finish it and I am so full now. I still remember the first time that I had my burger king. I was 12 years old, at Taman Tun Jusco. I was eating with my cousins, Jaja and Waa. Chilli sauce was everywhere as were busy squirting each other and popping our balloons. Then BK shut down for sometime until finally they open an outlet at Sg Buloh Overhead Bridge. I do prefer McD now as it is easily available but when I see BK, I will remember those time at Taman Tun :-)
